in Laredo, Texas. I feel that my job is not monotonous.

I received a BIS in Bilingual

Education from Texas A &M

International University located

here in our wonderful city of Laredo.

I'm in my second semester here at

SHSU for my Masters in Library

Science. I know that with the help and

support of our wonderful professors

and fellow classmates, I will achieve

this goal.

I love to read. I was instilled at an early age, by my mother, that reading is

the foundation to an education. She read to my siblings and myself each

night and took us on bi-weely trips to the Laredo Public Library. I'm

happy to say, that I'm doing the exact same thing with my own children.

Through my years of teaching, I have asked my students if they had ever

been to the public library and about 90% have always said no. I want to change

all that for them. As a librarian, I want them to feel welcomed in the school library.

I want them to seek adventures and expand their knowledge through reading. Someday

I will!
