Hello everyone, I am Khai. Today I would like to talk about how to use a bench grinder. A bench grinder can be used to grind, cut or shape metal. You can use the machine to grind down sharp edges or smooth burrs off metal. You can also use a bench grinder to sharpen metal pieces. Before turning on the grinder, you need to remember five things below: First, perform a safety check before turning the grinder on. Make sure the grinder is tightly secured to the bench. Check that the tool rest is in place on the grinder, clean the area around the grinder, fill a pot with water and place it near the metal grinder so you can cool off any metal that gets too hot while you grind it. Second, protect youself from flying metal sparks. Always wear safety glasses, face mask,.. to protect youself from grinding dust. After that is turn the bench grinder on and work the piece of metal. Move so you are directly in front of the grinder. Holding the metal tightly in both hands. Don’t allow the metal to touch the sides of the grinder at any time. And the final is dip the piece in the water pot to cool the metal, keep your face away from the pot to avoid the steam created by the hot metal hitting the cooler water. I think with its versatility and ease of use, the bench grinder is an indispensable tool in any workshop.

The main features of the bench grinder include: eye shield, grinding wheel, tool rest, … A bench grinder typically has two grinding wheels, one with a coarse grit and one with a fine grit. The tool rest is used to support the workpiece while grinding. It helps to keep them steady and prevent it from moving while being ground. And the eye shields are used to protect the operator’s eyes from sparks and debris that can fly off the grinding wheel. There are many positive aspects of bench grinder and one of them is that it is very versatility and efficiency, it can be used for a varie ty of tasks, with the right attachments, a bench grinder can quickly remove material and shape it to your desired specifications. A bench grinder is less expensive than other grinding tools make it is a affordable option for home or small workshop. However, there are negative aspects of it for example heat buildup and the most I don’t like about this product is that bench grinder is not ideal for every type of material or task like it may not be effective for grinding plastic or wood. In short, a bench grinder is still an indispensable thing in processing factories as well as in life.

I am an apprentice at the workshop. Next I will report the incident and how it happened. The victim is a man. His name is Peter. He is the store man. The incident happened in the number 6 workshop. He lifted the steel bar alone and he hurt his back. So he dropped the steel bar into his boot. His foot was injured. He didn't slip, trip or fall and just dropped something. Then everyone took him to the hospital. The cause of this accident was that Peter was not careful while transporting the steel bar. When he has back pain, stop trying and ask someone else in the workshop for help. In addition, people need to increase protective equipment such as better boots, helmets, and gloves. In particular, everyone should stay calm when an incident occurs and call emergency services quickly. The factory should install surveillance cameras for timely handling.
