In the book I noticed that when Tom was described or his house was the color most common colors where white and red. I think the colors help to represent him and his personality. The white means that he is high class which is true because his family is wealthy and so his he. The color red I think symbolizes his personality and how he is kind unwelcoming and intimidating. This is also shown when Nick is describing him, “[…] and you could see a great pack of muscle shifting when his shoulder moved under his thin coat. The chapter ends when Nick claiming that he is one of the few honest people he has ever met. Jordan Baker is shown as the opposite as she is portrayed as compulsively dishonest and careless, like when she cheated to win her first golf tournament. She assumes that everyone else is dishonest as her. In the book we have a few main setting. Those setting being West Egg, East Egg, Valley of Ashes, and New York City. The West Egg and East Egg are kind of the same because only the wealthy live there and have lavish mansions but the East Egg is a place where the people who live there inherited their wealth also known as old money, while the West Egg is where people who live there work for their wealth. Gatsby and Nick live in the West Egg. Tom and Daisy live in the East Egg. The Valley of Ashes is described as being a lifeless place with many factories and buildings. Also there is a billboard of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg’s eyes over the town. George and Myrtle  live in the the Valley of Ashes.  The last setting was New York City and it’s described as an exciting and that scandalous relationships can get lost in the noise of the city. Tom and Myrtle have an apartment in New York.
