For example, for a science paper, we are tested on database questions which we are unable to do through just memorizing. It requires us to apply the concepts that we have learnt. Thus, due to the changes made in examinations, I feel that it is pointless for students to learn anything by heart.

I think in today's modern world, it is still important to learn by heart. Remembering something is the foundation to learning something new. Only once you remember a fact, then you can understand and apply what you have learnt, thus truly learning something. For example, a toddler needs to first remember and memorize how an alphabet looks and soundslike before being able to construct and pronounce a word. Therefore, only after memorizing knowledge, we can then truly start the journey in learning

One of the reasons why there is no point in learning by heart is due to the examinations of then and today. In the past, most candidates just needed to memorise the information on their textbooks to score decently well in their examinations, questions like: what is the definition were significantly common then today's examinations. in today's examinations, one's priority is not to memorise the information in the textbook as more questions are data-based and requires one to be able to apply the information in the question and the concepts in order to answer the question. Hence, i think there is no point in learning by heart.

For today's teenagers, learning by heart is pointless because such basic knowledge and facts are just a click away. Instead we should be taught to think creatively and allowed to be more free in our thinking and way of learning so as to create educational progress. And learning without understanding would also be pointless. Without understanding and deep critical thinking, we might not be able to succeed when faced with real, difficult problems. For example, when we come across with a new, unknown word, we search for the definition of the word before memorising it and using it. Who would use a word which they themselves do not understand? Hence, only by understanding it, will something truly be imbedded in our minds and hearts.

In Singapore, an online survey showed that more than 70 percent of the students feel that learning by heart is very important while less than 30 percent of the students feel that memory work is useless as they need to understand comprehend and apply the concept instead of merely memorising. This shows that majority of the students feel that learning by heart is very important in the educational pathways.

In my opinion, I feel that learning by heart can be pointless from a point of view, but can be rather useful from another. It really just depends on the situation. For example, say I want to turn baking into a career. It would be most helpful to learn the skills and recipes by heart to ensure efficiency. However, on the other hand, in a situation that I have to sit for a Chemistry or Physics examination and want to do well, I should not learn by heart, but instead study the concept and apply when required. Learning by heart will not allow me to do well, as such subjects need the concept to be applied.

I feel in today's modern world ,it is still important to learn by heart. Being able to memorise something is a great skill where one can use in their jobs. For example, lawyers are required to memorise laws they are specialised in .A civil lawyer is required memorise certain things like civil procedure, contract law, trade secret law, and patent.Being able to memorise all of this would help them as they can easily answer clients' doubts .Hence ,being able to learn by heart is a great skill one can use to their daily lives.

In today's context, learning by heart still plays an essential role in our life. Memorizing is one of the key skills we have to acquire and is unable to forgo, as memorizing gives us easy access to information and details without having to go through the trouble to search and refer. For example, when we are handling math questions in an exam, it is inevitable for us to retain and apply the formulas learnt in class, as we are not allowed to refer or copy. Hence this has shown that learning by heart is still present in today's world, and it does plays a part in our life. Without learning by heart, we are unable to function smoothly as we would have lose our foundation and basics.

I believe learning by heart is still important up till today as learning by heart can shorten our time taken to solve a problem. Learning by heart allow us to search through the information through our brain quickly and help us identify problems and solutions. For instance, a doctor which learn all the medicine by heart can help the patient more efficiently as compared to a doctor who does not learn medicine. Why? This is because a doctor
who learns medicine by heart can search through information in his brain rapidly, unlike the doctor who does not learn everything by heart and he will have to search things through internet slowly and find the sickness that match the patient. Thus, learning by heart leads to a more effective way to solve problem

Learning by heart need not always be good or bad. It is from one’s perspective that will change his view towards memorizing everything. For example, to students, learning by heart for examinations are pointless as teachers will produce new and different questions than before. Likewise, for lawyers, they have to memorize the entire law book in order to pass the bar exam to proceed on with their carrier

in my opinion to learn something by heart,is certainly more seemingly a waste of time the older we grow. When we are young we have alot of time to invest in learning a new skill,to memorise it and all.For example, alot of parents when their child is still young will let them try out music and as it is complex, they will memorise and take alot of time, and since they started young, they will be able to apply it all and hopefully master it at a young age.Yet this changes as we grow older, when we start going into the working world as we do not have precious time available so readily to us to enable us to invest in learning something by heart. And also many employees are obviously more impressed by a list of various skills rather than showcasing one impressive one.Or more commonly viewed,a jack of all trades.Hence we would rather not learn something by heart and spend the time elsewhere, such as maybe picking up various others, hence,my opinion.

From what i think, studying by heart is no longer enough when studying in school or working . As when studying by heart, content is memorized . However , not knowing how to imply and use the content this content would probably be useless . For example , in literature , memorizing a poem by heart is just knowing the poem by words . However , literature is the understanding of this poems, books and art in written form . Hence , with real understanding of the poem and answering question about the poem , memorizing by heart is no longer viable.

To learn by heart is to memorise , that being said memorisation as a student could help me understand certain concepts faster.
for example, certain theory in both physics and chemistry cannot be understood without enough specific information gathered and remenbered from our everyday surroundings. especially when learning and studying is a student job, memory can help one retain information gathered as well as important concepts concluded from studying. And only then the processing and understanding of one environment and situation such as to say learning can take place.
nevertheless , memorising of information without interpretation prohibits actual learning as conceptual knowledge of the surroundings are not simply implanted information in one head. For example , a student may memorise all the concepts and apply them but without an actual understanding of a question ,vagueness or too much excess information will not answer such a question satisfactory.
