Research Q.1 In present day how would our react/help Holomodor in this situation?

According to the website Stanford Scholar's Research "Corn grits, cocoa, condensed milk, white bread, and sugar. This was America's menu for the starving millions in Soviet Russia during the 1921-23 famine- one of the greatest human disasters in Europe." Back then the American's tried to send food to the Russians but little did they know it never made it to the starving Russians. In present-day our society would have a bigger reaction than the U.S. did back then. The U.S. would find a way to make sure that their food got to the starving citizens.

Research Q.2 How would the famine be different if the Ukrainians found a way to escape and retrieve food?

According to ABC Clio "Famine is a regional crisis of starvation or malnutrition caused by the practical scarcity of food. It is regional in the sense that it is in some respect confined to a clearly defined group of people (usually, though not necessarily, the inhabitants of a specific region). Famine is also regional in the sense that it is generally expressed in terms of a group's absolute number of starvation- or malnutrition-induced fatalities or as a ratio of the affected population." This explains what starvation/famine is. It says it is a regional crisis. The Ukrainians could have probably done nothing about the famine Stalin was enforcing. But if they could escape they could have fleeted to another country and search for help to take down Stalin and his black shirts.

According to the book The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union "For centuries the tsars of Russia had controlled their subjects with a secret-police organization authorized to probe into every aspect of life and to punish those suspected of anti-government activity with the harshest measures. This quote justifies that Russia used secret agencies/police to control their country whereas in present-day they wouldn't be able to do that because somebody would be able to figure out what they were doing that. Today America would be in a panic at this situation and help by sending over spies to see what the government and Stalin were doing.

Where & When: "The dreadful famine that engulfed Ukraine, the northern Caucasus, and the lower Volga River area in 1932–1933 was the result of Joseph Stalin's policy of forced collectivization. The heaviest losses occurred in Ukraine, which had been the most productive agricultural area of the Soviet Union." This explains where the Ukrainian genocide was and how long it lasted. it says the heaviest losses occurred in Ukraine which had the most agriculture out of the Soviet Union.
