         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><mark>Our project, My video pen pal, is focused on an integrated curriculum, described as one that connects different areas of study by cutting across subject-matter lines and emphasizing unifying concepts.</mark></em></p><p><br><strong>1. Cultural Awareness and Understanding: </strong>-students had the chance to engage with peers from different cultures. By collaborating on projects, students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives, traditions, and ways of life. This firsthand exposure fosters cultural awareness and helps break down stereotypes.</p><p><strong>2. Language Skills Enhancement:</strong></p><p><strong>-as we mentioned from the very begining, </strong>Communication is at the heart of our project, requiring students to interact with their peers in a language other than their native tongue. This enhances their language skills and builds confidence in using different languages. The practical application of language learning in a real-world context makes the process more meaningful and enjoyable.</p><p><strong>3. Digital Literacy and 21st Century Skills: </strong>-developing digital literacy skills is crucial. This is why we tried hard to integrate digital tools and platforms, exposing students to collaborative online environments. Why? Because it enhances their digital literacy, cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork – skills essential for success nowadays</p><p><strong>4. Global Citizenship Education:</strong></p><p><strong>-the role of our project</strong> has also been to instill a sense of responsibility and interconnectedness. Students have been learning about global issues, environmental concerns, and have faced social challenges through collaborative projects, encouraging them to think beyond their immediate surroundings and consider their role in a global context.</p>]]></description>

CEIP Palacios Rubio</p><p><br/></p><p>My Video PEPAL is integrated into the Andalusian primary curriculum in the foreign language subject English, since:</p><p>1. Improves the linguistic skills of students: Students have verified the benefits of participating in an international project, having the opportunity to practice the language with speakers from other countries both orally and in writing, sharing activities and online meetings where they can put it into practice their foreign language skills.</p><p>2. Awareness and respect for other cultures.</p><p> It is a fundamental aspect in an international project like My Video PEPAL. Through participation in shared activities with students from other countries, students have the opportunity to broaden their cultural horizon, develop empathy towards other cultures and understand the diversity of the world in which we live.</p><p>They learn to value cultural differences and respect the different ways of life of each country. It allows them to delve into the richness and variety of cultures that exist in the world.</p><p>This cultural awareness not only enriches English language learning, but also promotes tolerance, respect and open-mindedness among students.</p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://3.Education">3.Education</a> for citizenship.</p><p>Students become world citizens who are more aware and prepared to interact in a globalized environment.</p><p>In short, My Video PEPAL has contributed to the comprehensive development of students and prepares them to face an increasingly diverse and multicultural world.</p><p> </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Katarina Marković,</p><p>PES Tvrđava, Serbia</p><p>This project, My Video PenPal, is integrated in the curriculum in various ways.</p><ol><li><p>It is a great way of developing English language skills (writing, speaking, reading, listening) because of the different tasks we had during the project (writing and reading the cards, listening to our new friends and talking to them).</p></li><li><p>This was a great opportunity for the children to meet peers from different countries and cultures, to expand their horizonts and become more acceptable of the differences amongst them.</p></li><li><p>Art skills were also further developed, because of the tasks such as Christmas cards and My Crazy School.</p></li><li><p>ICT skills were also enhanced during several tasks such as An important day in my country and My Crazy School.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We will integrate the project and further twinning projects in our "Europa" column which is one of four column on the basis of our school programme. </p><ol><li><p>This programme was used to build up a bilingual branch within our school. The best students of English and other languages in year 5 and 6 could participate - but it was also open for everyone who wanted to in these years. This will be taken on because these students will also get the chance to learn a different subject - like geography in English. (improving language skills)</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><ol start="2"><li><p>Apart from that etwinning project will be a fixture in the coming years especially for students with a lower social and financial status or problems participating in exchanges in general because here we can offer everyone to get to know different European cultures. (getting to know Europe)</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><ol start="3"><li><p>Last but not least due to antidemocratic tendencies in Germany and Europe we will further integrate etwinning projects in our curriculum in order to reduce stereotypes when it comes to other countries and educate the children in democratic and multicultural values. </p></li></ol><p>It really like to thank the coordinators as they put in a huge effort to make this program happening und fulfilling. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

Students  developed their skills in the area of greeting someone else, talking about hobbies, likes and dislikes, talking about preferences, asking simple questions and making inquiries.</p><p>Students learned about the culture and  a bit of geography of other countries. They researched about the members of the projects as they were curious about their new friends. They improved in the area of IT as they used many web tools throughout the whole project. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Teacher: Finnur Hrafnsson</p><p>School: Selásskóli, Iceland</p><p>Class: 5th grade, 25 students</p><p><br/></p><p>The project "My video penpal" was one of two eTwinning projects undertaken this year and integrated into our curriculum. Students really enjoyed the cooperation and learning about different cultures and customs of the world.</p><p>The project stood both as a stand-alone project where students could foster their creativity and communication skills as well as being integrated into language and social studies with additional projects made by the teacher.</p><p>Students both enjoyed the project as already stated and benefitted academically in various ways:</p><p>Cultural awareness: Students met and talked with students from other schools. Students looked up geographical and social data from the areas of these schools and talked about life in these other areas of the world.</p><p>Grammar and language: Students had to increase their knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary in order to communiate more efficiently. As this was something they had a high motivation to do already the project helped them on their path.</p><p>Cooperation and storytelling: Students had to work with each other to decide what to tell other international students about our home country and customs. Then they had to work with international students to learn about them. Finally students wrote texts together about what they had learned.</p><p><br/></p><p>This project was at times difficult to manage time wise but it was very well worth it. We really hope for more opportunities int he future to work on similar projects which will surely go just as well. The cooperation of other teachers was fantastic and the international students really did a fantastic job.</p>]]></description>
