The purpose of this article was to show how the general publics view on smoking has changed. The article talks about how peoples opinion on smoking in public has changed and gives examples about how states have banned it and how they want to protect nonsmokers health. The intended audience is the united states government. The articles uses logos effectively by using data and statistics to supports its opinion. This source will help give reasons and examples on why smoking should be banned in public and helps clarify the problem. The only defect is that the source doesn't offer a counter argument on why it shouldn't be banned in public places. This source is very useful to the topic.

The purpose of this article was to show how London is the first city in Britain to ban smoking in public places. This article talks about how the 2 front runners to become mayor of London both advocate for this ban as well as many high ranking officials in Britain advocate for this ban. The intended audience is the general public. This article uses ethos by giving many high ranking Politicians in London say about the ban. This source will help with the topic and give me highly credible people to quote. The only defect is that it doesn't get the opinion of the public in this article. This source is useful to the topic.

The purpose of this article was to show the dangers that come with second-hand smoke. The article talks about the dangers and affects of second hand smoke on everyone and why that's a reason it should be banned in public places. The intended audience is the general public. The website uses logos showing data and statistics. This could help me define the problem with smoking in public places. The only defect is it doesn't use any major statistics to prove its point. The article is helpful and useful for my topic.

This article is a counter argument to the topic. The article talks about a reason why smoking in public shouldn't be banned and says that since covid mask restrictions have gone down that shouldn't mean smoking should. The intended audience is the general public. This article pathos making you feel sympathetic for the writer who's older. This source helps complicate the topic because it is a counter argument. The defect is that there is no real credibility in this article. This is helpful to the topic as it is a counter argument.
