Sure. I felt engaged with the teaching methods called Suggestopedia because it combines text and music in the background. In fact, the fusion of text and music at the same time proves to be a very effective teaching method as it captures the full attention of the students and encourages their creativity.

Yes. The teaching methods can be used in a mixed way. Some of them would be Task-Based Language Teaching (TBL), Total Physical Response (TPR) and Audio-Lingual because they involve games, music and enjoyment.

I felt engaged with any of the teaching methods such as Audiolingual because it uses sock puppets to interact with students (mostly with children students) and make learning pronunciation easier for them because it involves movements and puppets talking along with the students. In fact, talking along with sock puppets at the same time proves to be a very effective teaching method (Audiolingual) as it captures the full attention of the students and encourages their creativity and better language pronunciation.

3. Can the teaching methods be used in a mixed way? How many of them do you consider appropiate to mix in a class delivery?
R/. Yes, the teaching methods can be used in a mixed way. Some of them could be Audio-Lingual with Suggestopedia, because it mixes the use of interactive elements (such as sock puppets, for example) to interact and engage with students and make easier the learning and pronunciation for them, and also introduces new grammar and vocabulary, combines music and text in the background, learn with songs and dramas, etc.

I felt engaged with the Direct method because it focuses on the use of the target language, avoiding using the mother tongue. It involves different skills like reading, writing, speaking, and listening, so the students can practice the target language all the time. It encourages the students to think in that language. Another fact that caught my attention of this teaching method is that learners figure out grammar rules on their own by practicing the language. Therefore, they develop connections between experiences and language.

Yes, they can be used in a mixed way. For example, the Total Physical Response can be mixed with the Audio-Lingual method because the students follow what the teacher says and does. While the students are listening, rephrasing, and repeating the teacher’s statements, they also are learning new vocabulary with physical movements. Therefore, they can also be mixed with the Task-Based Language Teaching. After learning and comprehending the information, students will complete real-world tasks using their target language.

All learning methods are interesting. For me, the one that caught my attention the most was suggestopedia because it allows creating an attractive environment for students and activities can be carried out that keep students focused on learning the target language.

Teaching methods can be used in a mixed way because one complements the other one. I consider three of them appropriate to mix in a class delivery, they are Direct method with Audio-lingual and Task- based language teaching.

What was the method used by the teacher?

The teacher used a direct method because the class is completely in English, conversational through question and answer, and reading. Also, suggestopedia was used because the games and role play was developed in class.

Human beings will be able to learn what others could transmit through their studies and teaching. And it could help people in many areas because of the knowledge gotten by any method used.
2- I felt engaged with the direct method. This system after ending the class could teach me is the best way to learn a newlanguage because it avoids speaking in the native language.
3- They can be used in a mixed way with a set organization. Perhaps, a good way could be using first Grammar Translation (for those who need to learn in a written form new vocabulary). 4- In my point of view, the class had direct method because we speak full English during the class, but also, it was used suggestopedia. We had to dramatize (to learn about the topic and even, it was a nice atmosphere) and, this is a characteristic of this method. It depends on the creativity of the teacher to mix the methods to create a dynamic class.

R/:Absolutely, many of the methods that my classmates presented in the class were something new, but at the same time, I felt familiar with all of them. I remembered being taught by my school, high school, and college teacher in all those methods. However, there was one that caught my attention the most, it was suggestopedia which is a method that I frequently use when I have to study. It is something that made me feel comfortable and confident when I study is to have music in the background. The interesting thing about suggestopedia is that it introduces grammar and vocabulary in a didactic way combining text and music in the background and they could be with songs, games, etc.

3. Can the teaching methods be used in a mixed way? How many of them do you consider appropiate to mix in a class delivery?

R/: Yes, but using the ones who have and work in almost the same areas or are a bit similar to avoid confusing the students. For example, Suggestopdedia, and Audio-lingual will work very well to help the students in their learning development with a didactic class using different visual aids to motivate them. Another one could be Tak-based Language Teaching and Communicative Language Teaching. In those methods, students can practice their fluency using the target language to communicate. It could be with interviews, role play, and short presentations.

4. Could you identify the ones used for the teacher during today's class?

R/: The teacher used a few of them the ones I can identify were the direct method where the teacher was explaining the class in the target language that we are learning which is English. The other one was Communicative Language Teaching where the teacher assigned a method and we had to work in small groups doing a role-play to characterized the method that we presented.

Of course, I can identify some of them. Generally, teacher use direct method for the development of the classes. As we know, all the conversations and explanation of the different topics taught, are carried out in the target language which is English. During the classes, we express our ideas, read and develop our listening skills which are some objectives of this teaching method.
Moreover, it is used Communicative Language Teaching, since we are aimed to use the language with the distinct activities that we have to perform during classes.

Yes, I did! I felt engaged to some of them because they were methods that some of my teachers and professors used so that I could learn and understand through them. So I had a lot of fun memories most of all about elementary school with the suggestopedia method.
