Thailand Lantern Festival is called "Yi Feng" is a festival that takes place in northern Thailand. It goes on a tradition of hundreds and thousands of years, with thousands of paper lanterns and more. These hovering lanterns glorify the Buddha and bring luck, since according to tradition the lanterns that ascend into heaven take the hardships and troubles of those who send them up.
The festival also features magical lanterns accompanied by folk music, and a raft of rafts called kartung, in Thai "floating". The rafts made of banana leaves, illuminated by traditional lanterns and sailing in solemn silence on the surface of the water.
