And with nothing to do during the summer, my dad had my siblings and I pick out the rebar all throughout the yard. We worked, what seemed to be, all day. But my siblings and I had fun and it was the first time at the recycling plant.
My dad put a lot of work into this company and watched it grow. I'm really proud of everything he has done.

One day she showed up at my office with a toy wand (that actually lit up) in hopes that it would bring me special powers (more drivers) to bring more loads. She always had more faith in me than I did myself. It was inspiring to see how well she managed all that she did. She was always juggling so many things at once and handled it so well. Not only is she amazing at multi-tasking, but she is also completely gorgeous inside and out with the biggest heart. Kevin was always there to tell me, “Just breathe" during the stressful moments of running a business, which I still remind myself daily. When he showed up on my doorstep, he hid his company logo on his shirt and pretended to be a driver wanting an application. The things he said without even thinking twice, made me laugh so hard and was a perfect introduction to his personality. He was always there to make a joke or try to look at the positive side of every situation. Marlene and Kevin are truly one-of-a-kind owners, very hands on and they cared immensely about their business, customers, and employees. They were always there to help with any type of situation, whether it was to fix a truck, get in a loader or help in the office. Both are deeply passionate about what they did. As hard as it is to imagine Green Valley Decorative Rock without these two-amazing people, I could not be happier for the both of them to start this next chapter in their lives. Now on their to do lists will be, projects around the house, family time, traveling and hopefully finally getting to see George Strait in concert! (Seriously put that on your to do list)Thank you both for showing me/my drivers nothing but kindness, positivity, loyalty, and love. Kevin was always great to work with, we have done business back and forth for many years since then.

I seem to remember most of our conversations starting out talking about trucks, employees and business but usually seemed to end in a conversation talking about fishing or something else besides business.

Kevin was always very down to earth and easy to talk too. I have many customers in this industry and Kevin is one of those customers who I have always considered a good friend as well.

I wish Kevin and his family all the best moving forward in the next chapter of life.
