The Puritans didn't believe in the modern world and it was left behind after we won the revolution. They left behind a legacy of strictly non fiction american literature because they didn't believe that it was right to write things that weren't true because they didn't believe that god allowed it.

How the Central Idea and writing style reflect their beliefs

The central idea is similar to the puritans beliefs because they believed that when something bad happens in life with the agreements from God, God will give back what you lost. The person in the poem lost their house and was thinking she wouldn't get it back but remembered that god has their back and stay with that agreement. The writing style reflects the beliefs of the Puritans because its written in way that could be seen as a real story. It is about an experience of a person who lost their home in a fire and not a story that could be seen as untrue because that would go against God.
