1) Read the book-inspired design challenges. Choose one that that you want to try and move to the “Sketch a Prototype” column where you will draw your design. 

2) Add a post to this column with your own book-inspired design challenge. 

Please include: 
1) the book title and author
2)your design challenge in 1-2 sentences that tell us 
a) WHO the design is for (what character/s will benefit)
b) WHAT the need or problem is that your design will solve
c) WHY it is important

TIP: Watch the “What’s Your Problem?”  presentation on creating design problems again if you aren't sure how to write one.

 

OPTIONAL: Instead of writing, you may post a photo of the book title and record your voice explaining your challenge. 

For online safety purposes, all posts are anonymous. DO NOT post pictures or video of yourself or others.  

1) Write the title of the design challenge or book (from column 1) that you are going to design. 
(SEE the examples below these instructions).

2) Sketch the prototype either by using the Padlet draw tool (by clicking on the three dots and selecting draw) or by taking or uploading a photo of your drawing.
Label your drawing with any information you have planned, like the materials, and the measurements (if you know them)

**Remember, designers often make a lot of prototypes. Post as many as you like here. If you make a another version of a previous protoype, use a different color to draw the change you made or write us a note and explain why you  made the change you did.

2) Upload or take a photo of the physical prototype (model) that you made (SEE the example below).

**Remember, designers usually work in teams, and this is a collaboration site. You can build a prototype of any design posted on this site and you can make as many versions as you like.
