Human illness seems to take a domino effect in disguise, mostly during the course of a weak immune system. While, the internal organ’s work in unison with each other and sustain life for years interacting in a chain mechanism, disruption of this functionality can cause more harm in a shorter span, with many incurable conditions spiraling out of control at any given time. Multiple sources of external torment can cause a similar reaction within our body. For instance, the liver may have the same reaction to alcohol addiction as it may have to a lethal spider bite.

In India, diabetes is one such condition that is solely responsible for multiple complications occurring in an individual during medical emergencies, making diagnosis and cure much difficult then a general disorder. Due to the fast paced and gluttonous culture of the country, the increasing BMI as well as high levels of stress has increased the number of diabetes sufferers in the Indian population. With a primary source of cure available for the different classifications of diabetes being the same in most cases, the process of curing a person who is Insulin sensitive or Insulin resistant eventually becomes counterproductive.

Type 2 diabetes is a major culprit that prevents healing of the sustained wound or injuries among Indians, due to high proportion of glucose damaging the circulatory function of the nerves which fail to transport white cells or oxygen to the wound site. As a part of the traditional culture in India, walking bare-feet and turning a blind eye to minor injuries among diabetics has become second nature, complicating such injuries especially in the lower body.

What causes the start of a never healing wound on the body of a diabetic is their inability to not have adequate sensation in certain body parts, like the legs or the arms. When a small area on these body parts receives a cut or a small wound as a result of a impact, the person does not feel anything until the wound contracts a infection. As many patients suffering from Type 2 diabetes describe their physiological symptoms as “sleeping feet” or numbness in their arms, their reaction to minuscule wounds is second to none. Eventually the wound starts to get infected and spreads to other regions of the body, subsequently surpassing the pain threshold of the person, to the point where he starts feeling pain in the particular area.

When the situation gets out of hand developing into conditions like Gangrene of the infected area, amputation of the body part remains to be the only option. The diabetes patient does not take well to this verdict, as he resents forgoing his freedom and becoming a slave to crutches. But to save the diabetic patient’s life and prevent any further complications the doctors perform Leg amputation in India.

The surgery itself has many risks which adds to the disorder’s downward spiral. Use of specific anesthetics in large amounts may cause trouble in the vascular state of the patient. Anytime during the surgery the persons blood levels may experience an increase in glucose levels. The cause of the condition may also hinder its cure, blocking the ability of the surgery site to heal itself.

The rehabilitation and healing process among diabetic patients is different as their amputated areas take longer time to heal. Special help is required for them in terms of after-care, wherein the area of surgery is well dressed and kept clean to prevent any outbreak of further infection.

Gangrene being one of the most dangerously progressed conditions among diabetics, is tackled skillfully by most surgeons by performing Transmetatarsal amputation which involves separation of the affected toe; a common the starting point of Sepsis among diabetics. The toe being the smallest in size contains many small blood vessels, which stop responding functionally due to an increase in blood glucose and worsen the condition as compared to the larger vessels present in the rest of the foot, which remain fairly functional. Although the success rate is observed to be the highest in this procedure, it is very important to catch the condition at its beginning to achieve observed results.

Despite the doctors best efforts if the situation calls for it, getting a below the knee amputation is not the end of the road for diabetics. Many people who were the victims of Gangrene, have successfully moved on to live a successful life irrespective of their social and ethical background. Similar to the Polio Leg treatment that was proven futile years ago, a rapid development of condition like Gangrene has no reversal therapy and parting way with the affected limb is the only available option.

In villages where most of these cases occur due to the rough nature of work in uneven ground surfaces between thorns and dried vegetation on the field causing injuries to the foot, many farmers have noted to resume work after undergoing amputation with help by procuring Artificial limbs in Vizag and Aritifical limb in Gurgaon. Besides from the metropolitan’s, many rural areas have become peak points for trust funded hospitals and centers making Artificial Limb in Chennai, run for amputees who are given prosthetics out for free on the spot by measuring their surgical site, leg dimensions and a stint of rehabilitation is provided to them depending on their condition.

Despite amputation being looked down as the most dreadful of all procedures, it has turned out to be a well shared boon among many diabetics who were at a greater life risk regarding conditions like Gangrene and Sepsis infection, which have no possible cure in the diabetic community. According to a study, many diabetic amputees are common workgoers wearing Artificial limbs in chennai while driving from one town to the another. Many such lives have seen better days, after their separation from the slow destroying disease.

For More Info:- Artificial Limb in Bangalore
