Randy tells their mom to tell Jamal to go see Mack. Jamal doesn't want to but his mom said it must be important. 

2. Jamal and Tito walk over to the bad part of town to find Mack. When they find him he says that Jamal is going to take over the gang. Jamal doesn't want to be part of the gang because he doesn't want to get in trouble. 

3. As Jamal and Tito are waiting to fight Dwayne, Mack comes up to them and said "follow me". While walking Mack hands Jamal a gun. They come to the gang's clubhouse where there is a fight over who will be the gang's new leader. 

4. Jamal and Dwayne are finishing their fight. Before the fight Jamal puts the gun in a bag. So when Jamal was getting beaten in the fight he pulled the gun on Dwayne. Dwayne started crying and Jamal ran away. 

5. Mr. Gonzalez tells Jamal he will pay him 15 dollars for a couple of hours and that Jamal might get tips. So Jamal rethinks about being in the gang. 

6. When Indian and Angel are at Mr. Gonzalez's store they told Jamal that he couldn't be the leader and the Indian was the new leader. Jamal tried to calm the situation down. When Indian and Angel were walking out Angel made a finger gun and shot it at Jamal. 

7. After losing his job and Randy being stabbed, Jamal decides he wanted to be clean. Jamal was going to give back the gun and leaving the gang. 

8. Jamal was telling Indian that he was going to let him be the leader and that he was leaving the gang. But Indian and Angel didn't like that so they beat him up. As Angel was going to stab Jamal Tito shot both Indian and Angel. 

9. Mack got sick and tired on Angel and Indian. So he killed them. And Mack is taking the blame for Tito shooting them.

10. Tito couldn't take his grandma being mad at him anymore so he told her everything. She made them  tell the cops too. The only way that Tito would not be in trouble is if he moved back to Puerto Rico. The ending is Jamal standing on sidewalk watching Tito's cab drive away.

Jamal wants to get Randy out of jail because it is causing his mom a lot of stress. He ends up joining the Scorpions to get money. 

Tito - Tito is Jamal's best friend. He is always there to help and protect Jamal. He doesn't want Jamal to join the gang because it's too dangerous but when Jamal joins so does he. 

Mack - Mack is one of Randy's friends. He was part of the crime that sent Randy to jail but since he wasn't old enough he did go. This conflict was resolved when Angel died and when Tito and Mack shot Indian.

Jamal vs Dwayne - This is another person vs person conflict, this conflict was resolved when Jamal pulled a gun on Dwayne.  

Jamal vs his money problem - This is more of a person vs society conflict. The story starts out with Jamal and his mom just trying to raise money to get his brother out of jail. The right thing to do was getting rid of the gun. But Jamal didn't so that caused a lot of problems. Another reason why this is true is his fighting with Dwayne. I'm not trying to be that person, but this book doesn't deserve it. The story overall is good, it talks about friends sticking together but there was a lot of useless information that I assume was there to make the book longer.
