Children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds use screens more often than children from higher socioeconomic backgrounds. Before the pandemic it was found that families from higher socioeconomic backgrounds have more spaces and resources to play therefore indicating children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds did not have these resources therefore resorted to playing games on phones and other screens.
