* The boys used a lot of figurative language.
* The boys were not debating.  They were talking about the same thing.  The kids were really nice to each other even if they disagreed.  Everyone got a chance to talk.
*They talked about the characters feelings.
* This video made me realize our group needs to discuss things better.
*They talked about life lessons.
*The students were very civilized.  They were explaining what happened and how the characters were handling a situation.
*This video shows ways to work together while also showing how to give evidence.  What I mean by this is this video is a great example of team work.
*They mostly talked about how each character/thing symbolized something.
* They talked about the book in a way that it looks like they are really into the book.
*They were good asking each other what things meant.  Like piecing it together.  They stayed on topic.  They were really serious about the book.
*These kids feed and question each other.
*They took in the whole story.  They were showing how everything has a purpose in the story.  Also after things happen people can change. This group was taking in every little detail.
* I think they all have a close opinion on the story.  Now I know a lot about a story I haven't even read.  They did good on explaining it as well and it really feels like they just read a story to me!
* This video shows that teamwork makes the dream work.  I can learn from this because the people were discussing parts of the story that maybe someone did not understand.
*They talked about the setting and the characters feelings.  They also talked about the dust being sadness and the rain being happiness.
*I think that they communicated very well. I am going to try showing my students videos and modeling how to think deeply about those so that they can apply those skills to their reading. I also want to try having students draw pictures during read aloud to help them think deeper about what they are hearing. I am still wondering how I can plan more small groups.
