reminding me of those golden old days when they used to play many hindi films here... they displayed posters outside the theatres and that's when i fell for him, the very first time i saw him, 9 years ago. randomly walking around and my eyes straight gazed at the tallest guy on the poster, not knowing who he was. that face instantly registered into my mind then. i didnt know his name. months later, when the film was telecasted on tv, i could recognize it and that's when i found out his name. i didn't know what stan culture meant till hasee toh phasee came and made me be a part of this fandom, proudly. lost two partially inactive twitter accounts of different usernames and finally this fake back up became a main till now. years of insanity and childishness, and so much love for this man, even i couldn't imagine how am i adoring someone in such a way, keeping him in my prayers every day. i may not have a proper identity for myself yet as i am working towards it but for now i just love it when others recognize me as someone who loves sidharth malhotra... the only man i'll love and respect endlessly.

as a fan, being here for many years, so much ive seen. his highs and lows, the success he got so early in his career and the sudden failures he had to face for some time, till the insanity shershaah blessed him with... an indescribable, bittersweet, imperfect journey it is. i feel proud that i never left his side as a fan who also sat in that weird rollercoaster ride, getting thrown off for being a fan of someone who had a rough box office run, listening to those screams saying he'll never make it anymore, he's done and it's time for him to go back... making me feel im wasting my time fangirling over this man. i felt terribly horrible reading them, i wonder how sid must've felt.

years passed, im still here, adoring him even more every single second. how to even let go of someone who unknowingly inspires you to live the way you want? to make dreams happen? to believe in yourself and never give up? and most importantly, to be a wonderful human being? i can't. and will never.

goddamn it i feel old!

Now the journey he had was insane. Auditions and rejections, debuts and cancellations, with no family members around him, his feeling of lost and loneliness, the struggles to even just survive, find a home and get a job, Mumbai was a nightmare for him. Thankfully, he was clever enough to have taken the job of an assistant director as he had enough of mistreatment from the industry as a struggling aspirant actor and as someone who wanted to learn about the working environment of the industry he wanted to be a part of. Till now, the struggles never end. He might have made his place in the film fraternity with a handful of successful films, but there's no place for honesty, genuineness and generosity. This place is filled with egos, jealousy and hatred, it's an unforgiving place to be for someone who is real and grounded and works harder than many people. How he survived and is now a successful working actor with a bunch of upcoming films in his hands,... all these amaze me. 12 movies, different worlds, 13 movie characters, completely different from one another, switching himself every single time since day one; this fascinates me and obviously is his trademark style. Some films may be bad and not work, but he keeps raising his own performance bar with every character he plays. Like how he described himself in a word; "versatile".

Enough said.

No matter where he goes, on the big screens or the online platform, he makes sure to keep everyone running behind him and surprise them. Not everyone has that charm, he does. He may have given up before but he knew he did not reach this far just to be this far.

That's why he's still here, he has a long way to go and he will never stop ever. He might describe himself as a stubborn and curious child but truly, this is a case of just more than determination. Pull him down, write him off, be biased, discredit him... the fact that he's always improving himself and has been a fine performer throughout and people aren't ready for this conversation as they fear the people they've been rooting for will be overtaken by this man... Face it, all naysayers, he was preparing to create history, Shershaah was his beginning. And all I can say is, yeh dil maange more!

Indirectly, it's kinda 11 years of Sid in the industry, if this is counted. Down to the memory lane remembering those days when Sid was one of the most hardworking AD on the sets of My Name Is Khan. It was smart of him to be here, which according to him is the best film school he could ever go to, to learn the technicalities of filmmaking. Leaving modelling for this is honestly just pure intelligence, if it wasn't for this decision he took after that rickshaw ride, he wouldn't be where he is today, he would've struggled even more.

Post this, he bagged Student Of The Year as the first ever outsider and leading actor launched by KJo and the rest is history.
