         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;Los científicos sospechan que había arroyos y estanques en el Monte Sharp de Marte. Con el rover marciano, esperan responder a la incógnita de por qué cambió el clima en el planeta rojo.<br><br>El rover Curiosity lleva desde hace una década en suelo marciano y, a lo largo de todo este tiempo, ha conseguido recopilar información muy útil para la investigación espacial.          <description><![CDATA[<div><sup>This Galician newspaper echoes a news item published by Chinese researchers in the journal Earth and Space Science.<br>These scientists have discovered a </sup><em><sup>new 22-year solar cycle </sup></em><sup>that influences the development of 2 oceanic phenomena, El Niño and La Niña, which </sup><em><sup>affect the Earth's global climate</sup></em><sup> (floods and landslides that destroy crops, storms, floods, tornadoes and hurricanes). El Niño is the accumulation of warm water on the surface of the equatorial Pacific and La Niña is the accumulation of cold water because the elysian, intertropical winds blow strongly in one direction or the other. <br>The cycle begins when the oppositely charged magnetic bands enveloping the Sun appear near the polar latitudes of the star and ends when the bands meet in the middle, annihilating each other.          <title>A new mineral to understand the Earth&#39;s mantle (Otto G.C 1ºC)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><sub>The first sample of davemaotite, a mineral that forms at a depth of 660 km in the deep mantle and whose tiny crystals have been found inside a diamond mined in Botswana, is extracted.</sub></div><div><sub>Geologists had suspected its existence because they had synthesised it in the laboratory, but had never recovered one because when it forms under such high pressure as it moves towards the earth's surface and the pressure and temperature change, it transforms into different, more stable minerals.</sub></div><div><sub>The diamond acted as a watertight box preserving the mineral as it is found in the deep mantle.</sub></div><div><sub>This discovery is very important because elements that generate a lot of heat in the lower part of the mantle have been found in its structure as isotopes of potassium, thorium and uranium, three of the main heat-generating elements.&nbsp;</sub></div><div><sub>Isotopes are atoms of a chemical element that have the same number of protons, but different numbers of neutrons. Being unstable, they disintegrate (lose neutrons) to more stable forms emitting energy, which in the case of the above is highly calorific. So this Davemaoite diamond is key to understanding how heat moves through the Earth's depths and circulates between the mantle and the crust, driving processes such as plate tectonics, which explains how tectonic plates move. These plates are like little pieces of lithosphere that move over the mantle, fit together like a puzzle and are thicker or thinner depending on whether they are terrestrial or oceanic.</sub></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>El pasado año se descubrió pero no se sabía con destreza lo que había ocurrido, pero este año los científicos de la NASA lo comprobaron. Lo llevaron a cabo los científicos de la NASA y luego la sonda<strong> Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (</strong><a href="https://scitechdaily.com/tag/mars-reconnaissance-orbiter/"><strong>MRO</strong></a><strong>)</strong> captó las imágenes.<br>Ocurrio el pasado 24 de diciembre,en el planeta Marte. Se hizo porque su atmósfera no es tan densa y fuerte como la de nuestro planeta Tierra.<br>Por el impacto se estima que el meteoroide media de 5 a 12 metros y abrió un cráter de aproximadamente 150 metros de ancho y 21 de profundidad.<br><br><br>TRADUCIDO POR GOOGLE<br>Last year it was discovered but what had happened was not clearly known, but this year NASA scientists verified it. It was carried out by NASA scientists and then the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) probe captured the images.<br>It happened on December 24, on the planet Mars.          <title>The largest galaxy ever seen has been discovered, and its size is unimaginable </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>In english:</strong><br>A group of reserchers of the Leiden Observatory in Netherlands recently discovered an extremely large galaxy. It is called Alcioneo and it is located about 3 billion light-years away. It ñs diameter is 16.3 million light-years. This is a huge size if we compare it to the Milky Way (200.000 light-years).<br>This is the largest galaxy known but it is very difficult to know because we only know that it has the largest diameter and that doesn't have to determine the size of a galaxy.<br>To locate Alcioneo, the group of astronomers will collect data with diffrenet radiotelescope antennas. They are going to be distributed around Europe, in 52 locations. It will start working in 2025. <br><br><strong>En español:</strong><br>Un grupo de investigadores del Observatorio de Leiden en Países Bajos han descubierto recientemente una galaxia de gran tamaño. Su nombre es Alcioneo y se encuentra a 3.000 millones de años luz aproximadamente. Su diámetro es de 16.3 millones de años luz, que es mucho mayor que el diámetro de la Vía Láctea (200.000 años luz).<br>Esta es la galaxia más grande conocida pero es muy difícil de saberlo ya que solo sabemos que tiene el mayor diámetro conocido y eso no tiene por qué determinar el tamaño de una galaxia.&nbsp;<br>Para poder localizar Alcioneo, los astrónomos están recogerán datos de varias antenas de radiotelescopio que van a ser distribuidas a lo largo de Europa en 52 localizaciones diferentes.
