         <description><![CDATA[Quando uma pessoa inspira, o ar entra pela boca ou nariz e chega até os pulmões através da traqueia. A traqueia se divide em dois brônquios principais, que por sua vez se subdividem em ramos menores denominados bronquíolos. No final dos bronquíolos existem pequenos sacos de ar denominados alvéolos.

Vasos sanguíneos minúsculos passam pelos alvéolos. Eles absorvem o oxigênio do ar inalado para a corrente sanguínea e liberam o dióxido de carbono do corpo para dentro dos alvéolos. O dióxido de carbono que é uma substância tóxica para o organismo é retirado do corpo no momento da expiração. Captar oxigênio e livrar-se do dióxido de carbono, são as principais funções dos pulmões.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nos pulmões, ele infecta células dos alvéolos —onde ocorre a troca de gases entre o pulmão e corrente sanguínea— a partir daí esse vírus começa a se multiplicar, mata a célula hospedeira e é liberado para contaminar outras células. "Concomitantemente a isso você tem um estímulo das células do sistema imune. Elas começam a ficar ativadas e a liberar uma série de mediadores que geram a inflamação local no pulmão e no corpo inteiro também", destacou. "Essa inflamação do pulmão gera pneumonia com várias partes do pulmão acometidas e, nos casos mais graves, pode gerar o que a gente chama de insuficiência respiratória", acrescentou.</div>]]></description>
