People hesitate to brag about their achievements because it is taught to us at an early age that we must be humble by closing our mouths or else we are just trying to bring people down. Sometimes people like to twist achievements and confidence of others to their own benefit as a way to compensate for the fact that they aren't up to the level of those who are and try and push those insecurities onto others. I think it is hard for people to display confidence because some are intimidated by other's confidence, or because they're setting a limit thinking they will never achieve something when in reality, they don't see their true potential.

Even growing up, being insecure seemed just normal.
