The government has organized numerous campaigns promoting the importance of recycling for sustainable waste management in all sectors of the industries and organizations. A lot of initiatives have been undertaken by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to support this campaign through the mass media. However, despite the efforts made, survey shows that people still do not participate or cooperate in the recycling program.

The increase in the number of crimes in commercial buildings and offices has motivated the City Council and the respective office management to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) at various locations. However, the implementation and the use of video surveillance has received mixed reactions from the public and employees. While some people are supportive of CCTV as it helps in preventing crime, others argue that it is a threat to an individual’s privacy and civil rights. The adverse effects of CCTV monitoring for some people can be paranoia, the constant feeling of having their movement monitored.

Many of the products that women use everyday could be endangering their health in the long run. Cosmetic companies are only required to list ingredients in their products and not the harmful by-products that could have occurred during manufacturing. Natural, organic or hypo-allergenic products are not much safer. Beauty products allow users to come into contact with about 126 chemicals daily, many of whom have not been thoroughly tested.
