This was done in a class discussion on music videos and how they are created, and we had to answer some questions and give feedback on what we thought about music videos in 2017. 
After this we had to g out into Harlow town and conduct primary research in the format of a box pop on what people thought about music videos. This didn't go as well as planned as when we went out there, people didn't seem to want to answer our questions. We asked people and spoke to them seeing if they had the time to stop and answer our questions however they didn't seem to want to.
To change this and to gather better data in the future, I will probably have to change the way I approach people in the town. Before I was asking to see if people had the time to answer a few questions quickly, however I need to make sure that I mention that is for a college project, and people will be more likely to answer my questions. throughout the rest of the week, we looked at different techniques used in music videos and their definitions, and how we can use them in our video to make them more interesting. This is good as it has allowed us to gain a basic understanding of what shot types are effective and how we can utilise them in our own music video.]]> 2017-01-18 10:49:04 UTC https://padlet.com/thomas_gamble/m0rsbi951ot3/wish/147767305 thomas_gamble https://padlet.com/thomas_gamble/m0rsbi951ot3/wish/147767324 In the sessions this week, we have been looking into different music videos throughout the different eras from the 50's to the 90's, looking into what has influenced society throughout the different eras. We looked into a standard music videos from each era, then compared them with a video that was culturally influential at the time, seeing the differences and what made a video in that time really stand out. This was a good process to go through as it meant that we could see what made a video unique in its day, and what key factors made it controversial to some people rather than it just being boring. From this we also had to look into the different fashion in each era, what was going on in the world at the time, laws and rules, and how this effected the music in each generation. 
We also looked into the different styles of Music videos this week, and how they are made, and how this effects people differently depending on the type of music video it is. We looked at the different styles then had to find different examples of music videos that matched with the style. This was effective secondary research for us as it meant that we got to learn what the different types of music videos there are and what is included in the different types of videos.
