• I chose songs for Gatsby that shows how his roller coaster of emotions played out throughout the book. The songs "Whatever She Wants", "Broke In A Minute", and "act Ii: date @ 8", show how he can use his wealth to boast and buy things for Daisy, while overall showing his love and admiration towards her. Songs like "You Broke My Heart", "Still Yours", and "Forever Yours", show how Daisy didn't end up with him in the end and how he was emotional about Daisy still loving Tom some. Finally, songs like "All The Parties", "Members Only", and "Another Late Night", show his party and extroverted personality which really is shown throughout his actions all book.

Nick

• Songs such as "NOT SOBER", "Self Control", "love is embarrassing" and "DEAD MAN WALKING", are to show how his constant drinking effects how he acts and is reflected in how he tells the story, and how he views the love/romance between Gatsby and Daisy, while also trying to pave his way in life too. This also leads to the next songs, "Feel No Ways" and "Liability", which is to describe how he is the narrator and he is very unreliable at certain points in the story, due to the bias of making himself try to look good, while he should "feel no way". Finally, "A BOY IS A GUN*" and "Sparks", show his confusion in sexuality while trying to navigate through all the drama of romance in his life.

Tom

• The songs I picked for Tom, range in multiple different ways. From songs showing his ego, such as "PRIDE.", "KING", and "Stand On It", to songs showing how his love for Daisy has changed from when they first met to now when he has the main affair with Myrtle. The song "PROBLEMATIC", is to show his white supremacist characteristics and overall how what he says and how he acts is incredibly problematic, a piece from the book showing this is, "Well, it's a fine book, and everybody ought to read it. The idea is if we don;t look out the white race will be-will be utterly submerged. It;s all scientific stuff; its been proved."(Fitzgerald 17). A song for the start of the marriage like "The Crow & the Butterfly", shows the love between the 2 and how it started to be one sided, and then at the end of the marriage when Tom hates her and love has fallen out, such as "She Really Think She Irreplaceable", "Polar Opposites", and "Back and Forth".

When Gatsby and Daisy were reunited by Nick (1 mutual connection), they both flawlessly remember since its been since they last saw each other, in chapter 5 it states "'We haven't met for many years,' said Daisy, her voice as matter-of-fact as it could ever be.' 'Five years next November.'"(Fitzgerald 56). This shows how they both made an emotional impact on each other where they both can perfectly remember the exact date. The other "ingredients", are just describing their characters. Gatsby being the 1/2 party animal and Daisy being the 1/2 naive woman.
