Haiti has a Federal: Semi-Presidential republic system. All this means is that the President maintains the Head of State and the Prime Minister maintains the Head of Government. The Prime Minister also controls a group known as the National Assembly. The National Assembly is divided into two chambers(upper and lower house) and hold legislative power in the branches of government. The upper house is the Senate. The Senate's job is to make agreeable laws for his/her state. Thirty seats are present and three members from each of the ten administrative departments partaken them for a six year term. The lower house is the chamber of deputies. Ninety-nine members are apart of it for a four year term. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haitian_Parliament
Haiti has a semi-presidential republic system because of previous dictators misleading their country. Violence was played thought out this because the people of Haiti disagreed with their dictator's decisions and the dictator did not like that. If a country is going to have a dictator, they should let them make the decisions that they want because they feel that it is necessary for their country and it is helping the citizens. The people of Haiti wanted a dictator to lead them, but the people of Haiti still wanted to have power. Haiti feels like if they did not have a dictator than other countries would try to take over.
http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/what-type-of-government-does-haiti-have.html
