Contact Details:

www.multiaugustinum.com

Coordinator Erasmus+: Wolfgang Krainer (wolfgang.krainer@multiaugustinum.com)

multiaugustinum is a Catholic private school of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The school is headed by Mag. (FH) Edith Pirkner. It is an upper secondary vocational college offering three educational programs, all of which lead to the Austrian Matura (school-leaving examination):

HLW multivital – specializing in creative culinary arts and artistic expression (all current participants come from this specialization)

HLW multimedial – focusing on photography, advertising graphics, and digital media

HLPS multisozial – specializing in nursing and social care (including training as a nursing assistant)

Students in the multivital program receive comprehensive training to qualify as:

Restaurant specialists,

Chefs/cooks, and

Hotel and hospitality assistants.

Throughout their education, students are introduced to all aspects of kitchen and restaurant management as well as business operations and organization. A mandatory three-month internship plays a key role in the practical component of the program and is a prerequisite for completing the vocational qualification (apprenticeship certification). Our students are between 14 and 19 years old. Due to this age range and the different educational pathways offered, students at our school have diverse academic backgrounds and come from a variety of social and cultural environments.

Roadmap and Objectives (English version) Objective 1: Affordable Mobility for All Learners Objective: Ensure equitable access to international learning opportunities by removing financial barriers for all learners. Rationale: The needs analysis identified limited financial resources as a key obstacle to participation in mobility activities. Addressing this barrier is essential to ensure inclusion and equal opportunities. Implementation: The school will establish a comprehensive financing framework combining Erasmus+ funding with complementary sources (e.g., school support association, municipal funding, sponsorship). A “Financial Inclusion” working group will oversee the development of a solidarity-based funding model and ensure accessibility through low-threshold group mobilities. Timeline: • Year 1: Development of financing structures and funding model • Year 2: Implementation and scaling of inclusive mobility activities Monitoring and Evaluation: • Indicators: proportion of participants from low-income backgrounds; percentage of costs covered through funding • Tools: annual surveys (students/parents), analysis of funding allocation • Milestones: annual reporting; iterative adjustment of the financing model 2 Objective 2: Integration and Strengthening of a European School Profile Objective: Strengthen the school’s identity as a European educational institution through curricular integration and visible school-wide activities. Rationale: The analysis highlighted the need to deepen European awareness and embed European themes systematically within teaching and school culture. Implementation: Key measures include the integration of EU-related content across subjects, the introduction of an annual European Project Day, and the establishment of regular exchange formats with partner schools. Timeline: • Year 1: Curriculum mapping and identification of integration opportunities; planning of EUrelated activities • Year 2: Implementation, including the first European Project Day Monitoring and Evaluation: • Indicators: number and quality of EU-related teaching modules; participation rates in European activities (>60%) • Tools: structured feedback (students/teachers), documentation in the school portfolio • Milestones: annual evaluation workshops; benchmarking against target indicators Objective 3: Strengthening Foreign Language Competence Objective: Improve learners’ functional foreign language competence to enable successful participation in international mobility. Rationale: The needs analysis identified a lack of confidence and limited practical language use among learners as a barrier to mobility. Implementation: The project will prioritize targeted language preparation, including CEFR-based assessments, online tandem learning with partner schools, and reciprocal immersion programs. Immersion will be implemented directly at partner schools to ensure authenticity and cost-effectiveness. Timeline: • Year 1: Language assessment, development of immersion formats, initiation of online tandems • Year 2: Full implementation of immersion cycles Monitoring and Evaluation: • Indicators: progression in CEFR levels; number of tandem sessions; qualitative feedback • Tools: pre/post assessments, learning journals, teacher evaluations 3 Objective 4: Long-term and Sustainable School Partnerships Objective: Establish and maintain sustainable European school partnerships to ensure continuity of exchange and collaboration. Rationale: The analysis emphasized the need to move beyond short-term projects towards structured, longterm cooperation. Implementation: The school will formalize partnerships with at least one European partner institution, supported by a permanent coordination body. Partnerships will include joint projects, reciprocal visits, and structured immersion activities. Timeline: • Year 1: Establishment of coordination structures; partner selection; signing of cooperation agreement • Year 2: Implementation of joint activities and full mobility cycles Monitoring and Evaluation: • Indicators: number of active partnerships; frequency of joint projects; mobility activities • Tools: partnership reports, joint evaluation meetings, digital collaboration platform • Milestones: at least one fully operational partnership by the end of Year 2 Project Timeline • September 2026: Project initiation; participation in contact seminar; establishment of Erasmus steering structures • February 2027: Submission of project application • 2027–2029: Implementation phase (24 months) Implementation Phases Phase 1: Preparation and Application (09/2026 – 02/2027) • Needs analysis (financial, linguistic, curricular) • Strategic planning aligned with four objectives • Identification and engagement of partner schools • Development of mobility and evaluation frameworks • Submission of application Project Year 1 (08/2027 – 07/2028) Focus: Structural development and pilot implementation • Establishment of governance structures and financing model • Initial curriculum integration of European themes • Launch of online tandem learning and pilot immersion activities • Formalization of at least one school partnership 4 Project Year 2 (08/2028 – 07/2029) Focus: Implementation, scaling, and sustainability • Expansion of inclusive mobility opportunities • First full implementation of European Project Day • Completion of full immersion cycles • Consolidation of partnerships and planning of follow-up application Evaluation Framework Key Indicators: • Participation rate of learners from low-income backgrounds • Engagement in European activities (>60%) • Measurable CEFR language progression • Number and quality of partnership activities Methods: • Standardized pre/post language assessments • Annual reporting and monitoring • Stakeholder feedback (students, parents, teachers) • Structured evaluation workshops Expected Impact (after 24 months) • Significant reduction of financial barriers to mobility • Clear and sustainable European dimension embedded in school practice • Measurable improvement in foreign language competence • Establishment of at least one stable, long-term European partnership

I am writing a PHD thesis on the impact of Erasmus+ exchanges - focus is on democracy and European identity. I would like to start a KA2 project (I have already led some) about this topic and it would be interesting to find out if Erasmus+ participants consider themselves to be part of #GenerationEU. By now I am in contact with a Spanish kindergarden, an Italian secondary school, a secondary school from Norway and a primary school from Greece. We would love to have partners from the UK too. Please let me know if you are interested:

hadolt.andrea@gym-hartberg.ac.at
