London also had a statue of Robertt Milligan which was vandalized with black lives matter, before being removed in response to the community (which was a response to the public removal in bristol)

Could do some image / object anaylsis on the statues and what they represent.  

Arguments for not taking the statues down, to defend national cultural memories (such as Winston Churchill) 
The narratives are built up and may differ from person to person depending on their experiences.

"Rhodes must fall" movement against confederate statues. He layed a dominant role in south africa, and played a role in dividing the races. Seen as a massive racist. 

Taking the statues down is a way of helping to indicate change within culture. Statues are a part of a representation of the past, or "cultural memory"
