I had the main figure take up a fighting stance against the helping hands, despite him already being battered and worn from fighting. I wanted to encapsulate 8’s inability to ask for help, and their tendency to view any helping hands as another thing to fight. I’m going to make the background near the hands white to emphasize that they’re there to help, and the area behind the figure black to act as a sort of “battle ground”. It was based on how my boyfriend had liked me for 4 years before we started dating. While I was making the piece, said boyfriend cheated on me, then dumped me for another girl.
