The Call to Adventure

Poe is a panda who feels stuck in his life of helping his dad serve noodles and dreams of becoming more than what he is by becoming a kung fu master. When there is a signposted up that says that today the Great Dragon Warrior is being picked, Poe doesn't hesitate and tries to get to the gathering as soon as he can. By the time he arrives at the top of the vast set of stairs, he discovers that he is too late and then proceeds to try and find a way in. After his many failed attempts, he finally succeeds by attaching fireworks to a stool and then launching himself into the air. When he lands he blacks out and wakes up to Master Oogway pointing right at him. He is then shocked when Master Oogway declares him the Great Dragon Warrior.

When Poe finds out he is the Great Dragon Warrior he is ecstatic until he is humiliated in front of Master Shifu and the Furious Five when he tries kung fu for the first time and utterly fails. He then tries to go and make light of it, but it is clear that the Five don't want anything to do with him. He then goes to a peach tree to eat his sorrows away, and is met by Master Oogway. Poe tells him about his first as the Dragon Warrior and how he feels like he doesn't fit in with the group. Oogway encourages him to not be discouraged by telling him that tomorrow is a new day and that Oogway chose him for a reason.

The Beginning of the Adventure

As seen in Master Oogway's vision, Tylung escapes from prison and begins his journey towards the Great Dragon Warrior, Poe. While talking to his Master, Oogway passes away leaving Shifu to fend for himself. He then goes to Poe and tells him that he must defeat Tylung. #1 Master Shifu must find a way to train Poe to be the Great Dragon Warrior. He finds that way when he sees how Poe will do anything for food and uses that to his advantage to train him.


#2 Shifu must train Poe differently than he trained the furious five and he does this by using food as an incentive for him through his training.

After a long journey of training, Poe finally receives the dragon scroll only to discover that is blank! After finding out this troubling news, Master Shifu makes the decision to take on Tylung by himself and sends the others to evacuate the town. Poe and the others go to evacuate the village. Poe then returns home to his dad where his dad says that it was for the better that he was back. He is then told the secret ingredient of the secret ingredient soup and realizes that he is like the soup and the secret ingredient is that if you believe that you are special then you will be. Poe then turns around to go back and help Master Shifu defeat Tylung. Poe returns to the temple only to find Master Shifu is on the ground and Tylung had been the one put him there. Poe then fights Tylung in an epic battle for the scroll and the town. Poe returns to the town to find everyone there and is reunited with his father and they embrace each other. He then sees the Furious Five and they all bow to him and call him Master as a sign to show their respect. Poe then rushes to Master Shifu to make sure that he is alright.
