I am a single mother.

My son drives me to push myself to succeed, to be brave and to be a good role model. The struggles are real and without family, I have to do all that I can do to succeed. Sometimes when I talk about being the single mother people underestimate me or think I'm the strongest, not really in the middle of those two opinions.
When it comes down to it, I want the best for my son. I want to provide the best life for him and the most opportunity to live a full life. I am both parents. He sees his father for a few hours here and there, but the father "watches" him instead of doing the parenting work. He doesn't provide any assistance, yet he receives praise for the hard work I've done for my son. All in all, I know what I do and don't let it interfere with bringing my son up to be the best person he can be.

I have been independent all my life. I don't ask for help unless I absolutely can't do it myself. I have had guys lose interest in me due to not having them feel needed. Men have gender roles that conflict my way of living. I can cook and clean, but I believe in fairness and that entails the man to cook and clean as well.
As a younger girl, I was a "tom boy" because I liked baggy pants, skateboarded, and hung out with guys. These actions and clothing preference were considered more male attributes than female and that's when i fell down the "rabbit hole". I have been a misfit throughout my life, always struggling to find my place. I have thought I was too this and not enough that, and til this day I struggle trying to find where I fit in.
Finding myself and who I am has been an intense adventure. I'm always discovering who I am and embracing the strong, independent woman that I am.

I would say that I am open to an infinite amount of possibilities. Who is to say one religion is right and the other is wrong. I don't think that religion should make or break their relationships in their lives. Personally, I don't like the man made beliefs that cause chaos and harm towards themselves and others. Culture expects you to pick a religion and only believe in that way of life. I cannot just pick one, I go with what makes sense to me. I love to debate about religion and the universal laws.

I love to travel. I take my kiddo everywhere I can. Taking road trips and seeing different cultures really intrigues me! I love trying new foods, going to museums and things that have to do with the communities history. I seek adventure and spur the moment types of days. I play pool and as a female, men tend to think that I am automatically going to be a weaker player. Lo and behold, this is one of the few sports that gender doesn't matter, it's the skill and experience that makes you a successful player.

I grew up in Buffalo and Rochester, New York. I went to school with other ethnicity groups and we all got along. There were rarely any fights and my school mates grew up in mixed relationships. So you could say we were color blind. We didn't use someone's race or nationality against them. Like I said though, this is the world I lived. When I experienced ethnicity in a negative manner was traveling and didn't understand why these men were so upset my family and I were heading into a shopping market. My viewpoint is as I expressed in my title to this. I see the person and see their insides and how they act around others. Everyone judges to a point, I just try to give people the opportunity to show me who they are.
