In my class, the students try to beat the clock during our Heggerty time. If the timer goes off, before we finish, I win. If we finish before the timer goes off, students win and get a point. They all have to participate for it to count too. If they are not participating and they beat the clock, they don’t get the point. The points add up for class parties.
This has helped my students really listen and participate more during our Heggerty time.
