Let us work on group projects in class rather then lectures for all class. I’d prefer to have more time to work on class work on projects.

JON'S RESPONSE: Great idea. How would you feel about my suggestion on the "Lecture heavy classes" post under "What I should STOP?" What if this was a way to measure participation? What if "peer evaluation" was tied to a portion of your class participation, where your team members grade your participation? It could be something like "50% for in-class team participation and/or speaking up" + "50% for online participation"...?

Have any better ideas?

Some people don’t like speaking in class, as other people do. It makes the quiet people have to submit more work in the disscussions.

JON'S RESPONSE: I agree with you. It's a challenge to figure out how to grade students fairly on participation. A key measure is showing up to class (which I make note of) and doing the in-class assignments. Speaking up in class is awarded, but I appreciate how difficult it can be to do that. That's why there are many other opportunities to engage and participate. Have any other ideas?

That was part of the reason why we did the team contracts - this was your opportunity to agree on how everyone would work together. The team evaluation component is to ensure you stick to it. JON'S RESPONSE: There are individual assignments for this purpose, however, one of the key objectives of this course is to work in a team. The goal is not to start a business or venture in this class, but to familiarize yourself with various tools and experience the benefits (and challenges) of working in a team. As the old adage goes, "If you want to fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

From the beginning list the number of deliverables (assignments, reflections, etc) for the semester so we can plan accordingly based on other classes we may have.

If it is still not clear, please ask me to clarify in class, speak with me after the lecture, or send me an email.

Make requirements clearer on assignments. Sometimes it can be confusing knowing what is/was required.

It might be a bit late this semester, but to give you an idea about where you might stand for participation, showing up for class is a big indicator for participation (and completing in-class activities). Posting your thoughts for each weekly discussion is also graded heavily. Bonus marks are awarded for speaking up and providing your thoughts during in-class discussion.

I've given myself 3 weeks to return assignments (after the deadline), then return in batches (like I did with the individual assignments) - I should have been transparent about this. I hadn't considered the impact the delay might have on students, so will be sure to plan accordingly for next semester. In the meantime, the Final Report and Presentation are not meant to be stressful, but more of an opportunity to reflect on your learning experience using the Design Thinking tools and share your findings using the "Create a Pitch" tool as a guide to create your presentation.

The workload is great. Good diversity of exercises but group projects can be stressful because we do not have any back so we do not know if we are doing them correct

Your check in and check tools maybe have people Who show up late can wait until the check is over instead of distrusting the class

I think this process engages people and creates opportunity to spark conversation and get people out of their comfort zone
