As a future educator, the importance of mental awareness in our roles as teachers should be emphasized to nurture the mental well-being of my students and help them to be strong and resilient so they can surpass any kind of obstacles and excel in their academic journey. Since school is their second home, and as their second mother, I am responsible for recognizing the signs and supporting our students in times of need.

As Dr. Canasa noted, mental health involves includes different aspects namely; emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being. It influences how people act, think, feel, and make decisions in their daily lives. Hence, as an educator, we must be alert to the factors that can impact our students' mental health, such as biological factors, life experiences, environmental influences, family history, and personal struggles. If I practice these habits, I will be able to recognize when a student is struggling and provide the necessary support.

Additionally, it is important to be aware of common mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, and their potential causes, including trauma, grief, changes, and substance abuse. Whether or not I like it, I am obligated to be informed about these issues and equip me to recognize warning signs and intervene when necessary. That allows me to establish a safe and supportive learning atmosphere in which students feel comfortable sharing their problems and helping with their coping mechanisms.

Thus, as future educators, we must foster students’ mental health and wellness. Dr. Canasa shared some images on how to solve problems, like maintaining open communication, engaging in physical activities, making time for self-care, and seeking professional help when needed, offering practical strategies for both us and our students. By embracing these practices and fostering a culture of empathy and support, we ensure that they have the resources necessary to successfully manage life's obstacles and contribute to their general success and pleasure.
