Hello everyone! When I heard about the term "Digital Citizenship" the first thing that popped into my mind was RESPONSIBILITY. Our learners need to understand that their digital persona is an extension of themselves, and with that, the understanding that their behavior online will affect them in real life as well. Most of our learners are digital natives and it is imperative they understand and embrace netiquette as part of the day to day online routines.

Hello! After reading the title Digital Citizenship, I automatically thought of liberty and accountability. We as teachers have to be able to transmit to our kids. That even though they are freely able to post or take from pages what they need, they will also be held accountable if they make a mistake. We must show safety and respect to all things and not take them for granted.

Hi! After reading and learning about our future generations being Digital Citizens. A few things came to mind. I believe that is is educating the children to understand the positives and the negatives consequences of the internet. I believe that students need to learn how to communicate properly using the internet. In order for them to be educated as teachers we should put into practice how we should communicate through the web. Parents also need to learn to reinforce proper Digital Citizenship. Parents need to reinforce what the students learn in school using technology. I think if maybe we are able to work closely with parents and educate our children, they will be wise digital citizens. Think about it, In order for us to be good citizens of the country we learn since young to respect others,o ur authorities and follow with policies set. I think the same is for those who are digital citizens.

Hi, I think our students are not informed about Digital Citizenship. In mi city, kids feel safe to post and share online what ever they want. It may be because they think they can hide behind a computer, or it may be because their parents doesn´t use technology as well as they do. They haven´t realized that it will be a problem in the near future. They don´t feel any responsability. They don´t think in how those posts could affect their lifes. Parents should teach TICs. But we as teachers shoud help them to understand how to use technology correctly.

Well, after watching the video a lot of things came to my mind.Being behind a computer and having access to Internet is something that is really common nowadays. It is something necessary in the world we are living, but first of all, we as adults have to be responsible and we have to teach the younger how to be responsible too.Of course the Digital Citizenship should be taught at home first. but also it has to be reinforce in the classroom, our students need to learn how to use these tools properly, and they must understand that since they are younger they are creating their "profile" and it will affect possitively or not their future. So let´s help them to understand how to use all these tools in a good way.

In our days, we share with everyone in the social networks our victories, defeats and thus create an acceptance with all those around us. But we must teach to our young generations how to use the networks. Such simple rules; like privacy, accept that others thoughts are different than ours, and be prepare to negative or positive comments that maybe can affect their self-esteem. I thought that the parents are the most important key in all this because they have to be aware in what their kids done. But our work like teachers is been alert and give them a guide to how to use the social networks protecting themselves and their integrity.

I was at a TEDtalk a few months ago that was about this situation. How we teach our kids (and in our case students) on how to navigate life in a safe and proper way but, since the internet boom happened, it didn't come with a manual/instructions on how to use it and the results of misusing it. This video helped me understand the data behind these facts and also provides tools and ideas on how to implement it in our classrooms. I think it is of utmost importance to help students understand the benefits and dangers of internet, and how important it is to use it responsibly and to have a good Digital Citizenship because, even though many of them are not thinking in the far future, this will matter then, and they will be thankful when they grow up and they won't have to try to fix it.

I didn't know how important is to keep a careful social media life. Currently the teenagers or even adults share their private lives like they were writing on a diary. When i read my first post from facebook i couldn't imagine what people could have thought about me, just by reading what i wrote, and since then i decided to never post about my private life again. It is important to create awareness about this topic in our students so they can protect themselves from the digital bullyng or predators who want to hurt them.
