I believe I would make a good nurse because I genuinely care about people’s well-being and have strong communication skills. I remain calm under pressure and am committed to continuous learning, ensuring I provide the best care possible.

The scene is the moment of welcoming the patient that is a 5 y.o. child and the actors are a nurse, the child and his mom. He came for hospitalization to do some monitoring visits.

N = nurse, M = the mom, C = the child

N – Hi, are you *Rossi Andrea*?

C – Hi, yes I’m

N – Ok, Andrea and mom came with me in the medical room, where we are going to take your person data.

N – So, I need first your admission sheet and your Covid test.

M – Yes, that are here.

N – Thank you Mrs. Rossi. Now lt’s measure Andrea’s weight and height, then tell me his allergies and what he usually eats.

The nurse measure Andrea

M – He is allergic to paracetamol only and he eat usually chicken, soup, egg and fish.

N – Ok, that’s it, now I’m giving to you your personal red bracelet for the allergy, that you have to keep always with you. Andrea and mum came with me in your room and inside there is your bathroom.

1- My message is about the Covid-19’s pandemic.

The Covid-19’s pandemic was a global pandemic since December 2019, subsequently declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization from 30 January 2020 to 5 May 2023, of the so-called “new coronavirus disease” more correctly by acronym COVID-19. The first known cases involved mainly workers in the Wuhan market, in China. Around the start of January 2020 it arrived in Italy and we started to implement mandatory and necessary behaviours to reduce contagion. For the first 6 months we were quarantined at home, we had to change all our habits and we had to adapt them to the moment, like school and work at home. Those who had to leave home needed a “justification” and they had to adopt protective devices. In the meaning time the hospitals were blowing up and we had lost so many people because of what Covid did to us, especially to the weaker people. After 1 year the vaccine was created and the whole world had to do it, where possibile.

Nursing is a demanding career that requires a significant commitment on the part of its professionals, but it is a job that leaves great satisfaction without a doubt; this is a social work without equal because it is that by being close to the patients and working for them improvement that you really help them. Planning and executing actions that improve a patient's situation, dedication to service and commitment to serving and caring for others are essential factors that answer the question of why I decided to study nursing. Another important reason is the high demand for employment and the availability of specialist skills to deal with all types of patients and the help that may be given to family members.

I make the decision to undertake this course of study on my own, my family support what i want to do and I’m very happy of this.
