The Ecological Park Maracajá is located on the banks of BR 101, along Km 403, in Maracajá / SC. It is considered one of the great Natural Patrimony of the South of Santa Catarina. Located in an area of 112 hectares of original Atlantic Forest, the Park displays lush fig trees and incredible capuchin monkeys. Like the lake, the forest is home to free-living native animals, forming wonderful fauna. Through the exhibition of more than 100 animals, representing 8 species of mammals, 31 species of birds and 4 species of reptiles loose and in large spaces similar to the natural habitat. The Maracajá Ecological Park promotes public awareness of the importance of keeping wild animals in their natural environments.

- hormigas colonas: typical of Santander, people generally roast ants in salt and eats them as a snack.
- Mondongo: it’s a typical plate of Antioquia, is a soup with cow’s stomach and beef.
- mojojoy: it’s typical from the Amazon region and its a worm that are eating fried or roasted.
- cuy: it’s typical of pasto, Nariño; Is eaten in special occasions like weddings.
