This is because, first of all, at the end of the video it flat-out says "All content in this video if fictional," basically just shutting out all evidence saying that they are real. Second of all, with modern technology, the "evidence" and the "mermaids" could have easily been photoshopped into the video. Third of all, the only real "evidence" of mermaids existing is the odd bloop sound call that was recorded, and thats not hard enough evidence to even begin to say that mermaids exist. Fourthly, the whole thing about our "ancestors" separating from the land humans and going into the water would be impossible. Those "ancestors" would just get tired out and end up drowning. Lastly, there's no historical evidence of the mermaids existing, other than the myths and legends. In conclusion, there is really no actual hard evidence that the mermaids exist. This collection of evidence debunking the legitimacy of the specie's existence is why they clearly don't exist.
