This is me in 4th grade, Liza! Growing up, I absolutely loved school! I attended Little Rock Christian Academy from K4 through senior year and cherished every moment there. However, as I entered 5th grade, my life at school became a bit more challenging. I struggled with anxiety, as many students do. Thankfully, I had an amazing family and teachers who supported and encouraged me throughout the year. I hope to be that kind of teacher for students who struggle at school, just as I did.

How my Passion for Teaching Began

Above is a picture of me with my two cousins, Jack and Walker. The more time I've spent with them, the more I've realized my love for kids. Children give me a new perspective on life. They are joyful, amusing, and live in the moment without worrying about tomorrow. They find enjoyment in the little things, which can be difficult for adults to do. We can all learn a thing or two from children! Given my love for children, education, and caring for others, what better way to combine these passions than to become an elementary teacher!

I'm currently a sophomore at The University of Arkansas, studying elementary education. I've enjoyed my degree so far and am excited to fully immerse myself in the program this fall. Outside of class, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, who have shaped me into who I am today. Additionally, I love exercising and practicing Jiu Jitsu. Both activities bring me a lot of enjoyment and have contributed to shaping me into the person I am today.
