Towards the end of Chapter 1, Jack was trying to hunt with Ralph. They talked about how they needed to cut a pig throat to pour the blood out and that the only reason he didn't is because he didn't want to see the blood. I believe this a important event because it shows that Jack still is scared of killing or taking another creatures life and doesn't want the spilled blood of the creature on his hands.

When they gather up all the boys together, they decide that to vote on a chief, someone to control the group of young boys. It is very close between Ralph and Jack, but they vote Ralph. I believe that is important event because, Ralph becoming leader or chief causes future fights with Jack. These fight cause the hunter to go off on there own and form there tribe, which I honestly believe since they focus more on killing pigs it moved along this insanity that blocked there vision from seeing what is real, what is good, and what is wrong.

They wanted to get rescue so they made a smoke signal on the top of a mountain. Later this also lead to future argument between whether to keep the smoke signal or let it die out. I think this is important because the signal shows how much they wanna believe people are coming. When Jack and his tribe give up on the fire, I believe they also stopped caring whether they got saved or not.

When everyone is relaxing, Ralph see a ship in the distance, and panic when he see no smoke on top of the mountain, run across the beach to see the ship leave the view from the island. Ralph runs over Jack to tell him about the bad news but Jack is raving over the fact that he finally got his first pig kill. When Ralph finally tell Jack, everyone goes silent. I believe after that Jack thought they lost any chance of escaping from the island, and at the time he didn't act very upset over the fact that the boat had passed, he was more happy about his kill.

The children are arguing about how there is a beast in the island and they don't know what it is. There talking about how if they believe it's real or not. That's when Simon comes out and say instead of the the beast being a beast it's actually them that are the beast. I believe that this is important because that's why everyone is so blind to it. They can't get rid of it, it's the author's way of telling us that there slowly becoming more like a beast or a savage.

While the boys are exploring the island, they run into giant pig or boar, and Ralph so excited over the fact that he hurt it. Soon after Roger was the dummy or pig in a game that Jack made up. The boy would start to poke sticks at him jabbing slightly circling him. Jack would make dying pig noises as they continued to jab there spears at him. Roger terrified was finally let go after Jack said that was a fun game. Now, I believe this is very important because it shows that Jack's choir boys have lost all senses to what is good and something that you just shouldn't do. I also believe that 'game' that they played show how much killings a pig has brainwashed them into thinking that there master hunters and because of that reason, they can rule this island killing anyone who doesn't agree.

They wanted to give a gift to the 'beast' lived on the island, so they gave it a Pig's head on a stick. Why I believe this is so important is because this Pig head later becomes Lord of the flies. It whole meaning of this is what I believe to be insanity really breaking into these boys. At first they all thought there was no beast, why are they giving a gift to something that didn't believe was real. There blinded to the truth, or maybe don't want to believe that the beast is them, it's something that can't be killed, something that takes over the mind. Something that ruins all forms of humanity.

At the beginning of chapter 9 it starts off with Simon having a chat with lord of the flies(the pig head on a stick) and Simon is hallucinating all this conversation and the lord of the flies is calling him a stupid little boy and saying that most of the boys don't want him there and after that whole conversation is done he has a seizure and passes out. Hours later when Simon wakes up and is making his way down the island the choirboys also start hallucinating and see Simon as the beast and kill him not quick and painlessly no, they take multiple jabs at him before his body was sent to the sea. I believe this is a major event because it shows the mental state of every one of the choir boys and not only that but being on the island shows that it also affected Simon to a degree, nothing like what the other boys have become but the hallucinations are still there.

When Piggy and Ralph, go to talk to Jack about getting Piggy's glasses and the 'fire' back, while in the middle of talking, Roger pulls a lever of some sort sending a rock that pushed Piggy off the cliff into the water. The incident while is very sad it is what I believe to be the most important part, after the boys kill Piggy they all snicker and laughed after taking someone life, before it was a hallucinations, yes it was wrong but they actively knew what Roger was doing and laughed. These are not the same little boys they were at the beginning of all this.

So after that little adventure into the place where Jack's tribe lives. SamnEric tip Ralph off with some information about how Jack wants to hunt and kill him. Ralph is sent on a big run for his life and when he reaches the shore he is met with two people and they said that if your British shouldn't you know better, why did you have to become savages. Now even the adults that found them can see how much they have changed and it shows that it's obvious how there mental state is but I think it's interesting because the people who found them were heading off to a war, to slaughter thousands and yet he still calls them the savages.
