Maria Teresa Ruiz at first went on to study chemical engineering at the University of Chile, but a visit to the observatory of Cerro Tololo in his university days, if made him fascinated by the world of stars and constellations, so he switched to the astronomy career.

Ruiz was the first woman in many terms of her career: the first woman to graduate in Astronomy from the University of Chile and the first to do a PhD in astrophysics at Princeton. She was also the first woman to receive the national prize for exact sciences in 1997 and the first president of the Chilean Academy of Sciences. In addition, she has been an academic at the University of Chile since 1979 and works in international groups that investigate the search for extrasolar planets and chemical abundance in our galaxy. And as if that were not enough, also Director of the Center of Excellence in Astrophysics and Related Technologies (CATA).

In 2017 she was awarded, along with four other women, with the "Woman in Science" prize awarded by the L'Oréal Foundation together with UNESCO.

Maria Teresa has opened the doors of science to thousands of women, being an example for those who want to follow a scientific career. It has also consolidated Chile as the most important window to study the universe.

In my opinion Maria Teresa Ruiz is amazing, having opened a way in a world of men to be able to investigate the universe. I find it inspiring for many woman or girls in Chile who dream of being a scientist or researcher.

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist defending the right to education of girls and women.

Malala loved going to school and learning with her classmates. However, in 2008 the Taliban took control of their people.
Radical extremists, among other things, banned girls from going to school. Unable to accept this fact, Malala started a blog under a pseudonym, where she talked about what was happening, right to the growing violence and Taliban control in the Swat area.

After giving a public speech, talking about the rights that had been revoked for the girls, Malala became a target of the Taliban.
The same year, Malala was on her school bus when a Taliban shot her in the left side of her head. The shot hit him near the neck, so she was in an induced coma, in which after waking up a long process of recovery awaited him.
After two years of recovery, the activist moved with her family to the UK. Where, with the help of his father, he managed to create the foundation “Malala Fund”, which objective to give opportunities to all girls and women to achieve the future they want. At the age of 18 she opened a girls-only school called “Malala Yousafzai” which is located in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

Malala also received the Nobel Peace Prize, being the youngest person to do so.

Last year Malala completed her studies in philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Oxford, England. 

In my opinion Malala should be known because she is an inspiring young woman who can help many girls or women, either because she runs a foundation for education or because she faced death by speaking out.

Michelle was born into a humble family living in a working class neighborhood in the South Side of Chicago, and from a young age she decided never to disappoint her parents for the efforts they made to educate their children. Some of his professors told him that he did not have the ability to aspire to "ivy league" universities, but despite adversities he studied sociology and African-American studies at Princeton University and then attended Harvard Law School.

He worked at the law firm Sidley Austin, where he majored in intellectual property law, where he met Barack Obama, with whom he married in 1992 and had two daughters.

She also worked in non-profit organizations and was an Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago and vice president of Community and External Affairs of the Medical Center at the same university.

When her husband announced his candidacy for president, Michelle left her post at the University of Chicago to devote herself to the election campaign.

As her husband entered the presidency, Michelle became the first African-American lady.

During this period Michelle became a role model for many women and worked to raise awareness on issues such as education, physical activity or healthy eating.

His public presentations in various speeches and conferences have always been accompanied by emotion and rapprochement with the most disadvantaged classes and minorities.
