Molecular process and use hands-on fabrication for translation conveyor factory and DNA replication track. Students will articulate their design choices. Reflection will help them figure out troubleshooting, what they could have done differently, and/or learning. Looking across 4 weeks. 3-D kits possibility, though, not right now. Feedback-Consider asking students what they made help them with something in the class. Feedback request- How scaffold? Some feedback is having/providing initial examples of what to do and have the MakerSpace team decide what is or not possible for the students as a way to not have them focus on fabrication perfection. MakerSpace team can help students prioritize parts of the fabrication based on assignment specifics or learning objectives to help them focus on the intent. Question-Will this be individual or group projects? Likely individual first to see how it works. Consider your framing of the work and keeping them focused on intent. Consider using some chapters or concepts and have students use their creativity to design projects in the MakerSpace.

ACC111-Demonstrate GAAP and transaction using debits/credits. Most students do not have accounting experience. Need students to have a starting point. Once students get introduced to the accounting code, they go into makerspace to create something that will help them remember. Students need to complete in about 60 minutes and within a week of going to the MakerSpace. Request for feedback--when introduce this timing-wise? Colleague feedback is that they liked how Paula gave them the 60 minutes to keep them from spending too much time on the project or be too focused on the perfection of what they are making. Building in creative time can help with students engagement. Suggestion in first week or early on is to do the MakerSpace tour and the homework is to go and discuss so they start with ideas so students start to prep. More structure helps them get started. Paula is thinking that needs to put more thought on the timing, the assignment, and the structure. Hoping to try in the spring, though, may pause. Consider having students present all the way through the semester to help with repetition and helps with learning of the accounting code all the way through.
