The series focuses on the misadventues of a Rebecca Bloomwood, a financial publicist. The irony in her being a financial publicistis is her trying to be contacted by the bank to repay her debts. She is getting really desparate and still can't control her urge to shop and continues to spend money until her cards are cut off. This is a perfect mixture of a romantic chick flick with a nice little touch of comedy. The target audience is female 16+ year olds. There is a lot of financial disscusions that are hard to follow along, the younger ages would most likely get bored. Anyone could really enjoy it over 15 though, it's a great classic chick- flick that most women could relate to Rebecca's love of shopping.

The girl in the green scarf.
The green scarf is a symbol in the film. It shows the irony in her having to desperately try and find any money to pay off the scarf on 9 different credit cards. She bought the scarf trying to look rich, meanwhile her designer obsession was making her broke. One thing that stood out to me that had meaning, was that the scarf represented her relationship with money. It's a useful object, if used properly. A scarf keeps you warm on cold nights around town and looks stylish. But if not used carefully, it results in you being choked. If you compare that to money it's the same thing. Money is a very powerful useful object but if not used responsibly it leaves you in debt.
