1996 - How it started

In the year 1996, Stacy Madison and Mark Andrus started a food cart in Boston, selling healthy pita sandwiches. After they noticed a large amount of leftovers they started to bake it and make pita chips from it.

Labor- Stacy and Mark had to deal with the whole business the whole way throughout the first couple years. This gave a great impression on how being consistent can shape a business positively.
Entrepreneurship- Stacy and Mark gave out free pita chip samples to customers while they waited in line.

1997 - The start of a new beginning

Official hard launch of Stacy's Pita Chips occurred when her and her husband had bought a commercial kitchen in the year 1997.

1999 - Land and Labor Expansion

Land - As the demand grew, they were required to move to a new larger facility where they would prepare all of their breads and packaging for the chips.

Labor - Required to work long shifts and put in a large amount of support to the company, from sleepless nights to a decrease in energy they still were determined to spend 14 hours per batch of chips.

2001 - Production Process

Land - Due to rising demand, they moved into a larger facility to scale up production.

Capital - Purchased industrial baking equipment to mass-produce their pita chips.

2005 - Prime Time

The year 2005 marked a significant change within the company. Stacy decided its was time to use all 4 factors of production in one year.

Entrepreneurship - Stacy’s Pita Chips became a nationally recognized brand, distributing across the U.S.

Land - Needed larger manufacturing facilities so they built a warehouse.
Capital - More highly extensive supply chain.
Labor - Workforce grew to over 100 employees.

2006 - Selling the Business

Capital/Entrepreneurship - Stacy decided it was time to let the business be under someone else's control and she got a wonderful business offer from PepsiCo where they offered $65 million to acquire Stacy's Pita Chips. Stacy agreed to the contract and had cash flowing in.

2017 - Flash Forward

In 2017 Stacy introduced her campaign RISE. Stacy’s Pita Chips were on a mission to introduce female entrepreneurs and bring equality in business. The designers pursuit was highlighted during Women's History Month through original artwork for a limited-edition collection of Stacy's Pita Chip bags
