What’s interesting about this poem is that it is easy to tell what it's talking about even though the poet is trying to hide the meaning by using different types of objects to send the message. 

I feel like I understand this poem and it has really nice message to it even though it's about love it somehow shows that happiness is equally important.   

I have learned in class to read between the lines more to understand the hidden meaning in the poem. One devices that makes the poem more effective is the rhyming in the poem. The poem has a better flow to it with the rhymes, and it has a rhyme scheme as well. 

And the rivers with the ocean,

Simile: A figure of speech comparing one thing to another using like or as (ex: my teacher is as bright as a light.)

Hyperbole: Exaggerated claims that aren't took literally (ex: I told you a million times.”)

Understatement: Presenting something to be smaller or worse that it actually is (ex: everything is fine. When its actually not.)

Alliteration: The same letter or sounds that are in the beginning of each word which are connected or close to each other ( ex: Alligators and armadillos are awesome and amazing.) 

Onomatopoeia: Sounds that are made by words (ex: cuckoo, boom, buzz, boing, clatter)

Rhyme: Correspondence of the ends of words in a poem
 (ex: Do you remember,
That time in December)


Rhyme-scheme: A pattern of rhymes in the end lines of poems, songs and etc, ordered with letters, same letter means same correspondence to rhyming word

Rhythm: Repeated pattern 

Stanza: A group of a couple lines or verses, and have a space between other stanza’s

Sonnet: Is a type of poem that has a rhyme scheme, fourteen lines and ten syllables per line, it has three quadrants and one couplet, the first two stanzas talk about the bad part of the topic and the last two talk about the good art of the topic

Haiku: A Japanese poem containing seventeen syllables, the first and third line have five syllables and the second line has seven syllables

Cinquain: A type of poem that doesn’t rhyme and has five verses 

Rhyme:  Correspondence of the ends of words with the sounds it ends in

Personification: When objects are given human characteristics or doing something humans do

Stanza’s: A group of a couple lines or verses, and have a space between other stanza’s 

Repetition: Repetition of a word important to poem

Imagery: words that put image in your head from the description 

Hyperbole:  An extreme exaggeration that aren't took literally

Figurative language:  Something in a text that is not supposed to be taken literally

I chose these two lines because they don't literally mean what they say, the first one kind of means my mom always makes me clean and the second one is says my mom  always cares for me.
