The snow ball method and paying according to interest rates are explained. For the snowball method, you pay off by balance, starting with the lowest. For the interest rate method, you pay the debt with the highest rate first, then work your way down.

The video discusses tips and strategies to manage your debt, starting with making a plan. Having a plan is good way to come up with a strategy to tackle the debt and putting it on paper to hold yourself accountable. Then consolidating your debt, and increasing your income to pay off the debt. Then trimming your budget to funnel the money towards the debt and avoiding extra spending. Lastly, look for loan forgiveness programs if you can.

She talks about writing your minimum payments for each debt you owe and start off paying off your smallest one first with as much as you can and than pay the minimum towards the rest and to keep doing this process over until you are caught up. This is important to individuals because some people get overwhelmed with their debts and don’t know how to attack it property so they end up just paying more towards the bugger debt which makes it harder for them to catch up.

It talks a about a strategy for pay off debt called the 'debt tsunami'. This strategy says you should rank your debts by how much of an emotional impact they have on you and pay of the most emotionally impactful debts first.

This video talks about how fast the U.S. National Debt is growing, and that it has already gone up in the time I took to watch the video. The country is currently around 21 trillion dollars. The video then goes on to explain how the Government borrows money similarly to how every day citizens to. The reason the Government is so in debt is because they spend so much on things like national security and they don’t have enough revenue coming in to offset those costs. The video explains that it is not necessarily a negative that the country is in debt, however it is projected that the national debt will continue to rise which could turn into more of an issue than it is at the time. Over the duration of the video, interest on the U.S. National debt had increased over 1.3 Million dollars.
https://youtu.be/So2OQW6gR6I

This video discusses five simple ways to pay off debt. This includes the debt snowball, increase your minimum payment (work more hours, spend less, etc), negotiate lower rates (i.e APR), which can add to your principal. Other ways to help get rid of includes doing a balance transfer meaning less overall payments with lower interest rates, negotiate a settlement to pay less debt at a time. This will pay amounts in full right away. By doing all these things you can help pay off your debt as soon as possible.

The first method was one we already read about and discussed inn class, “The Snowball Method”. The snowball method is paying off your debt starting with the lowest balance and working your way up until all your debt is paid off. The key is to not use any of the paid off cards again until you are debt free. The second method is “The High Rate Method”. This method works the same way except you pay off the debt in order of highest interest rate to save more money in the long run.
