A memorable experience my mom shared was when they left me on top of a table for a short while and later found me on the floor without injuries or tears, as if a guardian angel had protected me.

Toddler Years

For the toddler stage, I was energetic, playful, and eager to explore everything around me despite my health challenges. A memorable experience was regularly going to the hospital for tests and monthly injections because of my heart complications, which showed my resilience even at a young age.

Preschool Years

For the preschool stage, I was seen as a bright child with so much potential, often surprising people with my confidence and curiosity. A memorable experience was during my sister’s high school graduation, when I was called on stage and asked where I wanted to study—I confidently answered Ateneo, adding that it was “the school with a lot of sheep, baa,” a random but funny moment that everyone still remembers.

Elementary School Years

For the elementary stage, I excelled academically, graduating as my batch’s Salutatorian and even earning recognition as Best in Nihongo at Nikkei Jin Kai. A memorable experience, however, was the disappointment I felt when the pandemic prevented us from having a proper graduation ceremony, leaving me unable to walk on stage with my medals despite all my achievements.

Adolescence

For the adolescence stage, I went through many life crises that opened my eyes to reality, teaching me valuable lessons and helping me discover more about myself. 1. Was the subject Personal Development helpful for you? How did this subject help you know yourself more?
Yes, Personal Development was very helpful for me because it allowed me to understand myself better — my strengths, weaknesses, and the kind of person I want to become. This subject really resonated with me and made me reflect on who I am and who I’m becoming. I also loved how Ma’am Claire taught us; she was truly perfect for this subject. Her lessons and words always felt sincere and meaningful.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?
My key takeaways from Personal Development are the importance of self-awareness, emotional growth, and having a positive mindset. I learned that knowing yourself is the first step toward improving and becoming a better version of who you are. I also realized that growth takes time, and it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you keep learning. This subject taught me how to understand not just myself, but also others with empathy and kindness.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?
My two favorite topics were Personal and Social Relationships and Emotional Intelligence. I loved learning about relationships because it helped me understand how to build stronger connections with others and communicate in healthier ways. I also enjoyed the topic of emotional intelligence because it taught me how to manage my emotions better and be more understanding toward others. These lessons truly touched me and made me more mindful of how I treat myself and the people around me.
