The area is restricted as nobody can enter it unless you are an employee or trader there. This was caused for security reasons after September 11th, they closed the area off entirely to prevent a potential attack. Tourists are often excited to see this building at the little girl monument facing the building. NYPD patrol the area, there are security cameras and physical pylons keeping people at bay. The building stands as a physical embodiment of capitalism and the free market, making it a pillar of America despite not having nearly as much business be conducted through it than before, as most things are electronic now. The area is well kept and pristine, ensuring its prestigious status. There are multiple other monuments and landmarks within the area as well causing a large amount of foot traffic, wall street as a whole has little to no vehicle traffic as it is built to restrict vehicles, so really only law enforcement vehicles are seen. The buildings around it all have high economic status, importance or have something to do with the creation of wall street, adding to the history of the area.
