         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>- encourage greater repatriation, perhaps signifying the end of the universal museum's&nbsp;<br>- it will build Greece's national cultural identity&nbsp;<br>- part of the history of Greece, belongs in the context<br>- important to know their own history<br>- Greece has not been given the opportunity to do their own research&nbsp;<br>- Greece has the technology and scholarship to research&nbsp;<br>- Globalisation makes it possible to travel -&gt; British researchers can research in Greece<br>- Greece has the ability to house and preserve the sculptures, with a view of the Parthenon<br>- Cannot use the fragile argument as they lent them to The Hermitage in Russia&nbsp;<br>- British Museum damaged the sculptures with cleaning products as they used to heat the museum with coal and made them dirty&nbsp;<br>-&nbsp; They will attract more tourists, boost their own economy internally&nbsp;<br>-&nbsp; The return of the Elgin Marbles does not necessarily mean that ALL objects from Universal Museums should be returned&nbsp;<br>- Greece may allow England to borrow some of the sculptures, perhaps this would allow more people to see them globally&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>REBUTTLE<br>- financially and logistically this would be difficult<br>- a loss in the universal museum is a loss in the ability for research<br>- British history is a&nbsp; history of colonisation<br><br>ARGUMENT<br>- This is a place for international research<br>- Collaboration and sharing research<br>with Greece<br>- British Museum is a centre for research<br><br>REBUTTLE<br>- Widens discussion by having numerous locations<br>- Different interpretations<br>- Greece already has a collection of these marbles<br>- Can they fund this?<br><br>REBUTTLE - LEGALITY<br>- These sculptures were not stolen illegally<br>- They were purchased<br><br>ARGUMENT<br>- British Museum has the funds and resources for conservation<br>- Economically stable<br><br>CONSERVATION mishaps<br>- Difficult to look at modern eyes for these previous cleanings<br>- This is apart of the history of Conservation history&nbsp;<br>- These were not being looked after so difficult to imagine if these works would have still been in the collection and possession of Greece<br><br>ARGUMENT<br>- Should we collapse the Universal Museum<br>- Source countries and cultures have changed<br>- Repatriation difficult for several countries worldwide<br><br>CULTURAL IDENTITY<br>- BM has the ability to contextualise the Parthenon Marbles within the European art historical context<br>- e.g Egyptian, Assyrian, Renaissance<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
