I use Padlet to have the students post a picture of their math work for assignments and tests.

I also use it at the end of the week for posting a video of students reading a Quick Write Journal prompt response of their choice. I get to see a lot of their personality come through that I sometimes do not get to see.

My partner and I kept our Morning Check In, which is interactive through Google Classroom Question, to keep some things consistent. We also established a Math Check in after recess so the in person students can have time to use the restroom, wash their hands, and join the class smoothly. This allows the online students to get to work on something so that they are not idle during the transition. We also have Daily Spelling & Wonders Skill Check In after lunch. I also have an aide and she takes care of the exit and entrance of the in person students so I can be online right away no time wasted.

I have 4 screens going at once. One laptop plugged into a TV screen to see my students in the Google Meet. Then another laptop also logged into the Google Meet. I am currently using 3 screens. I am using a Mac desktop along with an additional monitor and my Macbook Air. My Mac desktop is being used to see all students in the Google Meet. This is projected so that my in person students can see their classmates and lesson presentation. My additional monitor is being used to keep an eye on students through GoGuardian. To keep the Zoom "environment" fun, we have spirit "fun" days.
Mondays-"Moji Monday"-Kids can add an emoji next to their screen name.
Tuesdays-"Talk About it Tuesday"-Students have extra time to chat with their friends. Sometimes, I'll also post a question in GC to poll what they'd like to talk about that day.
Wednesdays-"Watcha Wanna Eat Wednesday" My kids have expressed how much they like food!
For attendance, they shout out their food choice instead of "here"
Thursdays-"Thankful Thursday"-Students share something they are thankful for.
Friday-"Fun Friday"Attendance shout out and we have a period of time where they can participate in the activity the class votes on.

I have my students visible on a large Mac desktop. I have my new Mac AirBook connected via ethernet and teach from there. I have my old Mac AirBook connected to our class session and projecting via Air Play on Apple TV onto the projector at the front of my room. Students have the option to "show me" their work on camera when it is done. This helped many students who did not ever turn things in. I write their names down and I give them points for the work. If I want to check details, I use a google form to see what they actually know.

I am currently using two laptops and a monitor. One laptop and the monitor is for GoGuardian and Google Meet (I put Google Meet on the monitor so the students are bigger). My other laptop is also logged into Google Meet, but is only used for teaching/presenting. I've been able to keep everything nearly the same. We open with announcements such as the date, weather and upcoming events. Then we start math with basic facts and then the math lesson. When we reach the first break, I leave the virtual meeting open so that my virtual students can visit and chat with each other. This also saves me from having to log them all back in. I turn the meeting off during lunch. I added two small breaks to our day for P.E. and restroom breaks.

Remind App has been fantastic for communication with parents. I promised them at the beginning of the year, that I would only use it to send reminders and important class messages. I would not use it to communicate negative things about their child. That is how I got almost the entire class to join. It gets the word out quickly.

I feel my students are engaged due to the time I took to make a connection with them even remotely. That connection is becoming even stronger now that some are back in person.

Having an iPad has been a game changer for me in math- I used to screenshot all of the leaflet pages, put them on slides, and add text boxes. Now I screenshot the leaflet pages, save them to my camera roll on the iPad, and choose to edit them. We discovered that the thunderbolt dongle with the mini-connection was key for our school Mac's and to be able to project on the projector. The adapter the school provided just would not read on our device so we had to troubleshoot and it was the only thing that worked.

In-Person students have a school-use basket for all of their in-class belongs that stay at school, ie: pencils, crayons, color pencils, math manipulatives, drawing paper, playdoh, small ball, coloring book, etc. The basket stays on a counter when in not in use before and after school so that the desks can be cleaned.

I use my laptop for GM which is connected to a second monitor (21 inch). I put my Slide presentation and IPEVO to the second monitor. My 75 inch TV is a mirror imagine of that second monitor. That way kids at home and in class see what I am presenting.

Breakout Rooms

Students work in small groups in the breakout rooms to read stories together, discuss and answer questions about the stories. The students share stories they have written with each other. After reading their stories students give each other compliments and comments. Each day of the week has a similar structure, so the students now take turns leading the rooms.

Sometimes students do not respond and you can see their names at the bottom. To increase engagement you can put little pairs into a name of wheels. Everytime someone responds you spin the wheel it will select a pair. Then you go to you Pear Deck Connect Four board and if they win a row by the end of the class they win a prize.

TV monitor, two computers, elmo.
The TV monitor helps my in class students see what's presented on a large scale as well as see at home students (have to switch back and forth). At home students voices project through the TV.

I post a weekly schedule of assignments Sunday evenings; during attendance, students copy their daily assignments into their agendas. Students are encouraged to highlight completed work as they finish it. Agendas are signed by parents daily. I teach sixth grade; great prep for middle school

I love using all the Google apps such as slides, forms and G docs. I have used PearDeck about once per week, GoNoodle, Mystery Science, and SAVVAS math tools. I link many of these program directly to my GC.

I made sure to keep the same routine so it wouldn't be such a big change for them.

I sit behind the student that are in person. I wish that I could sit more to the side so that I can see their faces also. The cables prevent me from arranging my desk like that. But, I have been able to make it work.

I give a weekly schedule to my students with lessons and assignments. I review what students will need for the day at the beginning of each day.

I try to incorporate brain breaks during transitions. My students LOVE GoNoodle. GoNoodle has a variety of videos ranging from low energy to high energy and the videos vary in time as well (1 minute to 15+ minutes). Sometimes I will also guide my students in standing up and stretching because sitting for a long period of time is difficult!

I have student line up outside of the classroom on numbers provided by admin and take lunch count on a sheet protector with lunch options (veg or meat, type of milk) before entering the room.

I love the breakout rooms to provide collaboration with my students. I also pull students into the breakout rooms to help tutor and guide in small groups. I share lessons with my team so that we are so overwhelmed setting up so many online lessons.

This is good to use for asynchronous days and review of skills or for subs. You would have to set up your account and connect the assignments to Google Classroom.

Blooket to review or reinforce ideas is amazing and the kids beg for it. I recently tried Boddle which is also great. It's a math "video game" similar to Prodigy, but the difference is the teacher can assign particular standards to practice.

If you are familiar with excel. I use google sheets to for practice. You can use functions like conditional formatting and equations to customize your assignments. My students really enjoy it because right away they know if they are answering the problems correctly. It's instant gratification for them. As they answer the problems correctly part of the picture appears.
