James I (1603-1625)

I am King James I and I am the first Puritan King who took over after the Great Queen Elizabeth. I was the first King of England to translate the Bible into English, calling it the King James Bible. I was honored as the namesake for the new English settlement in our newly acquired land of America. We named it Jamestown.

Charles I (1625- 1649)

I am Charles I and I believed in the divine right of kings which then the feud with Parliament led to me dissolving the governed body multiple times without permission. The conflict escalated quickly causing the English civil war. while my forces were named Royalist, Oliver Cromwell forces were named the Round heads. After the defeat for me and my Royalist, I ended up being executed for treason against his country.

Oliver Cromwell (1649-1658)

I am Oliver Cromwell and I was emerged as a military leader during the English Civil War. Due to my success in the Civil War I was a puritan and was crowned the Lord protector where I ruled England until my death. I was known for my part of the execution of James I and for ruling England as a military dictator. I was able to change the government of England by abolishing the monarchy and establishing the Commonwealth.

Charles II (1658-1685)

I am King Charles II and during the Cromwell I had a rough time and was exiled to France by Cromwell due to the threat I posed to the throne as Charles I's son. As I returned to England and stored the Monarchy I sought to heal the wounds left by the Civil War. I was pursuing a policy of religious tolerance in a document called the Declaration of Indulgence which grated the freedom of worship to non-anglican protestants and Catholics.

James II (1685-1688)

I am James II and am the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II which he had 12 "illegitimate" children so I would be the last Roman Catholic King of England, Ireland, and Scotland. Due to England being a majority Protestant, another Catholic King upset them and I ended up facing many challenges regarding religion. The challenges with religion and many others allowed the Glorious Revolution of England to begin.

William and Mary (1688-1702)

I am William and I married the daughter of King James II named Mary who was raised protestant unlike her father. When Parliament completed the overthrow of King James II they asked me and my wife Mary to rule jointly as a protestant alternative. Our rules we created begins the constitutional Monarchy in England by agreeing to govern in accordance with laws and decisions of Parliament.
