Mare Barrow is the main character of this novel. She was a Red girl from her village. She regularly roamed the streets and picked a few pockets to steal. When she is caught trying to pickpocket Cal, a Silver not so much older than her, he gives her some money and gets her a job as a servant at the palace. At the palace, she astonishes everyone, including herself, by revealing that she has the power to wield lightning.

In a world where people are divided by the color of their blood: Those of Red and those of Silver. Mare and her family are lowly Reds, destined to serve the elite Silvers, whose supernatural abilities make them nearly gods. Mare steals what she can to help her family survive, but after her best friend is conscripted into the army, she tries everything to get his freedom. A twist of fate leads her to the royal palace itself, where, infront of the king and all of his nobles, she discovers a power of her own-an ability she didn't know she had.

Except...her blood was Red, not Silver.

To hide this, the king forces her into the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons.

Her actions put motion to a violent dance, against her own heart.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I rate this book five stars because it kept on leaving me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. The huge twist at the end definitely made this novel even more interesting.

I chose this song because in every time Mare ends up being in a situation where she is unsure of whatever is going to happen next.

Important Characters: Cal and Maven

Cal and Maven are the two Silver princes in Red Queen. Cal helps Mare by giving her a job at the palace,and unknowingly helps her discover her hidden powers. Maven is another prince that is betrothed to Mare after the discovery of her powers. Both the princes help and assure during tough situations. But one of them isn't who they seem to be.
